Groundworks Sponsors USTA James E. Cryan Memorial Tournament

Groundworks Philadelphia proudly sponsored the 58th Annual USTA James E. Cryan Memorial Tournament on July 27, 2024. This non-profit 501(c)6 organization raises funds annually to support cancer research and related causes, honoring James Cryan’s legacy. The event contributes significantly to health initiatives and attracts players of all tennis levels across the region. It offers multiple-division competitive play, including open and rated categories for various player levels.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national tennis authority committed to promoting and developing the sport at every level. The James E. Cryan Memorial Tournament, established in 1965, honors the late James Cryan and his contributions to the sport. He lost his battle with Hodgkin’s Disease at the age of 42.
