Before Foundation Repair:

Visible Cracks Reveal Foundation Issues

Staff noticed concerning signs of foundation issues, particularly the growing stair-step cracks in the building’s brick walls as you can see in this picture, with the worst cracks appearing in the bathrooms.

Foundation Issues Prompts Urgent Repair

Knowing that these signs indicated ongoing foundation settlement, the organization reached out to Groundworks for a solution.

The presence of a nearby power line posed an accessibility challenge that required specialized planning to ensure safe and effective repair.

After Foundation Repair:

Interior Pier Installation

Our team began by assessing the foundation and determined that 45 piers were needed—both inside and outside the building. For the interior, you can see where our crew removed sections of concrete to access the foundation footing. Because the workspace was actively in use, every step had to be done with precision to keep the area clean and limit disruptions. Once the piers were in place, the concrete was replaced and finished to match the original floor.

Exterior Pier Installation

On the outside of the building, pier installation required careful planning due to a nearby overhead power line. Our team mapped out a safe and effective work zone to complete the repair without risk or delay. These piers were installed along the exterior foundation wall to stop further settlement and restore structural support where cracking had been most severe.

Deven from Groundworks is extremely thorough and courteous. Even though we worked through the estimate for a few hours, he was able to explain and answer every single question we had. Trust, we are a tough audience. They are not the cheapest but gave us the peace of mind knowing we will be taken care of no matter what. No surprise up charges, just a straight black and white pricing. The products are definitely superior to the other 7 estimates we received for foundation repair. Don’t be bamboozled by the competition with their rusty pipes!

Ben Gilmore came out to assess a squishy floor in a ground level addition. He presented himself as a gentleman. L He was very thorough, considering several possibilities. After a through examination, he gave me a detailed explanation of what was happening. I then asked about an estimate. He explained that GroundWorks does not remedy my specific problem. After all his time, sleuthing for the problem, suggesting a remedy and explaining the problem as he saw it, his company could not assist. That was the sign of absolute honesty and integrity. If I ever had work that GroundWorks could remedy, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them and will recommend them.

Daniel Cippone demonstrated a level of professionalism that was very much appreciated. He was punctual, communicative and made sure that the work area was kept clean. He was able to patiently & confidently answer all my concerns in a very informative manner and finished the job in a timely fashion. He also went above and beyond by fixing the basement access door which was missing a couple of screws. I would have no hesitation to recommend him highly.
