Josh called on his way to the house got here at the earliest time in the window of time given to us by the company that he would arrive. Not only did he fix the seal on the leaking toilet but also noticed a bigger problem and called a water remediation company while at our house to come out right away to access and potentially remediate any problems we have with that! Not all my projects are finished yet with AFS, but I wanted to make it known how good of a job Evan, Aldo, and Jorge did on my crawl space. Evan was super nice and handled all the communication with me and I’m sure the other two were nice, but they just got straight to work. It is very noisy, just be prepared. On top of tools, there is music and they start screaming at each other about how they don’t want to work on Saturdays…which is why they came on Friday at 7:30 a.m. and were done by 3. They showed me the pictures afterward. It looked so clean. Like a science lab, and Evan put foam wherever light came through. I’m super impressed.

Wow. What can I say about this company. My father passed away recently and left us his house, which needs major foundation repairs. It’s all my Dad had left to leave his kids, and his grandkids. So with the life insurance he left, we decided the foundation needs repaired. Went online and found Groundworks. The first day I met with Matt Gumpert, for a free quote. He went over EVERYTHING in perfect detail. In the beginning, he made sure I understood everything about Groundworks and what they do. How they operate, and why he does what he does. He spent well over an hour in my crawl space making sure to note every detail along the way. He was in my dining room for quite a long time, going over options of what needs fixed and what we could afford, and honestly, he felt like a part of the family. He was totally professional, but also has a way about him of putting you totally at ease with a stranger. Never ever put any pressure on me at all, and didn’t use any scare tactics to push me into going with their company. At one point, our permit got rejected by an engineer and he spent all day sorting out the issue and really eased all of my concerns. He got it to a geotechnical engineer instead and there were no more issues. Unfortunately in the process of waiting for the city to approve permits, some unexpected financial issues hit us and we had to put the project on hold. I contacted Matt and he didn’t make me feel bad. He totally understood how hard things have been for us without my Dad around, and worked hard to get us most of our deposit back as well. Even though we did not get the project done, in the future when I have the funds, I will definitely be contacting Matt Gumpert at Groundworks again for all of my foundation needs. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with the project, or with my Dads legacy.

When we discovered water in our basement, I made many calls to have someone inspect our situation and come up with a solution. Local companies are small and presumably swamped with work because of the high water table this year–no one got back to me. Groundworks was the only company that answered my call and I was surprised that someone could come to our house that very day. That was impressive in my opinion. Adebayo Ogunleke and Atila Simon were fantastic. They worked non-stop and I mean that literally. Beyond their hard work, both young men were extremely polite and respectful. Ade answered all of my questions and explained what he was doing to deal with obstacles or unusual situations such as why he had to dig the trench further out from the wall. Atila's clean-up was excellent. I would rate Groundworks' workers 10/10. With a sump pump and the trenching system, my wife and I feel our basement is now much better equipped to deal with future water issues.

We had three projects completed recently in our basement. Chris was our first contact who assessed the needs and he provided full information and recommendations for the work required. Andrew and his crew came in first to install a sump and a radon mitigation system. Michael then came in to repair a crack in the foundation. All technicians were friendly, well prepared, experienced and professional. They all thoroughly explained everything they would be doing and answered any questions we had. The jobs were all completed quickly and with attention to details such as leaving the work areas in very clean condition. We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend Groundworks.

It’s been some time since I got Indiana Foundation to come out and look at my crawl space and give me an estimate. I used to have so much water in my crawl space some summers I had frogs in there. My sump pumps all burned out and nothing I put in kept up with the water to pump out. Matt came out and did my estimate and laid all out on the table how bad it was down there. It had rotted out the floor in my main bathroom and even under my furnace. His guys came out and put inna new floor in my bathroom, pumped out 16 inches of water before they could even start working, and work they did. They worked into the nights, on weekend, and did a fantastic job and saved the foundation of my house. They just came out for an annual check if everything is working and it is. I am so glad to hear one of the 3 pumps, they created on their own and cooled by water pumped so they won’t burn out, when it pours rain. Thank you Matt and your entire crew. What a great job!!!

Hi, I am an old customer of Select Basement for many years. This is my incredibly happy and satisfied review on the service call by Kenny M. First the backstory. The alarm went off on my battery backup on Wednesday early evening I called Select several times and no one got back to me. I just wanted to know if this was a serious problem. Considering all the rain we were having that week. This was unusual for Select not to return my call in a timely manner from the great service I had received from Select Basement for many years. I explained to the customer service representatives who took my calls who were very professional and tried to help but to no avail no one called me to answer my question. I received a called back Friday morning to set up an appointment for Monday to look at the alarm on the battery backup to the sump pump. I inquired if our annual maintenance check could be performed at the same time and was told yes. Monday morning Kenny called to say “He was on his way”. My appointment was at 8, he arrived 7:45. This was great because I had a 9:00 virtual business meeting. I explained my frustration with Select Basement and merging with Groundworks. Kenny took the time to explain the system changes and how things work now with Groundworks. Kenny proceeded to look at the battery and said it is working properly now. He asked how long we have had it. I said several years he recommend changing the battery, which he did. Kenny also performed the maintenance of flushing the French drain system to make sure that is still working fine. He took several pictures along the way to validate what he was doing. He addressed the dehumidifier that we have, he adjusted it so it would drain into the nearest little french drain hole. Kenny did a great job. He was careful to address all the issues that he thought needed to be addressed. Kenny was very professional and respectful technician leaving no mess behind. Our water has a lot of iron ore, Kenny cleaned the ore around the pump and also offered a recommendation on how to reduce the ore around the pump. He also explained the difference in the service pricing for the warranty offered. I appreciated Kenny taking the time to explain everything that Groundworks now offers to their customers. I know Select Basement and Groundworks merged only a few months back. However, the most important thing is customer service. If I called on Wednesday night thinking I am having an emergency, I should not have to wait for my call to be returned on Friday morning. I text Jason from Select Basement late that evening since no one got back to me right away . Jason responded right away and put my fears to rest and suggested a few options for the alarm shut off that did not work. He said he would pass the issue to the one of the managers. There has to be better response to customer when several calls are made with not even a touch point call back. Thank God by basement was not flooded. Select would have lost a customer.

Cody explained why our basement had water coming in and put together a very detailed plan to solve our water and foundation issues. If you are questioning the health of your foundation and/or have water coming in the basement I would highly recommend having foundation recovery systems come inspect your home.

I hired Groundworks (Bay Area Underpinning) to stabilize and lift part of my home. After we signed the contract, the team worked seamlessly to get permitting and scheduled the work. Chris, George, and Josiah came and worked on our project. Although the project ended up being slightly more complicated than anticipated, the guys did an amazing job. Great communication, very very professional, and always on time. Never left us feeling like we were not a priority. Groundworks saved my home. I recently bought my family's first house. I was devastated to learn that there was a ton of undisclosed damage to the foundation. I scheduled a free consultation and inspection with Groundworks. Jonathan came out for that, and really took his time to review the damage and make sure my home would get the support it needed. He found parts of my home were sunk into the ground over two inches. It was a big job. It was a huge relief to know that we did not need to leave the house or get a hotel room for the duration of the construction. Jordan and Joshua did the digging and peir installation. They were super professional, punctual, and communicative. They explained everything they were doing as they were doing it, and answered any questions I had. When I thought they were going to take the day off due to poor weather, they still showed up at 7:30am with panchos on, ready to work in the rain. These guys were efficient. After the house had been lifted, it was time to stitch some cracks and inject foam into the concrete slab. Alex and Manny came into the house for that second portion of the job. Again, these two were professional, punctual, communicative, and just very straightforward. This house is the biggest purchase i'll ever make, and the livelihood of my entire family is riding on the integrity of the foundation. All these men treated this situation with the same gravity as I do. It was as serious to them as it is to me. You can't ask for better service than that. I'm so grateful for Jonathan, Jordan, Joshua, Alex, Manny, and the whole Groundworks crew. Thank you all so much. -Mike from Antioch

He walked me through the whole process, answered all my questions, and showed me photos of past projects. He followed up in a timely manner as I was going through several estimates and shared their price matching and other estimate details. We have used AFS several times. To lift our car port concrete pad, resolve a floor joist structural issue and most recently to encapsulate our crawlspace (with dehumidifier). The service has always been top-notch. Kudos to Josh who recently came out to perform our annual maintenance checkup – patient, thorough and professional 10 star support. We renewed our annual maintenance contract on the spot. Hopefully you will never need foundation work but if you do, I highly recommend you check with AFS first!
