Groundworks Teams Up With Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation For Dragon Boat Races
Event Recap: Smiles and Sails
On Aug. 1, 2025, the Groundworks Fort Wayne branch teamed up with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation to sponsor a lively Kids’ Craft Zone at the annual Dragon Boat Races along the Riverfront. Our team created a family-friendly craft station where children of all ages built their very own mini Dragon Boats, making creativity and community the stars of the day.
The energy was infectious as kids launched their handmade boats into the water, their faces lighting up with pride and joy. Parents expressed gratitude for a welcoming space that allowed every family member to join in the festivities. It was more than a craft station; it was a hands-on experience that brought the community closer together.
A Partnership That Makes Waves
Our collaboration reached countless families during this impactful local initiative. From bright smiles to floating boats, the Kids’ Craft Zone proved to be a highlight of the event. Groundworks’ team members engaged directly with attendees, all part of our mission to uplift communities where we live and work.
