Event Recap: Kicking for a Cause

On May 17 and 18, 2024, Groundworks’ Pittsburgh team, formerly Baker’s Waterproofing, proudly served as a platinum sponsor of Colby’s Stars Foundation’s 8th Annual Kicking Cancer’s Butt Kickball Tournament, held at the Rices Landing Athletic Club Fields.

The event featured both youth and adult tournaments, uniting players, families, and supporters for two action-packed days of fun and fundraising. Our team was honored to hit the field and join the community in support of children and families facing the challenges of cancer.

Since its founding in 2010 in memory of Colby Simkovic, Colby’s Stars Foundation has raised more than $100,000 to support southwestern Pennsylvania families with children battling cancer or other serious illnesses. From financial aid and essential items to uplifting experiences like zoo visits, the foundation works tirelessly to ease burdens and bring joy during difficult times.
