He was very professional, yet warm in his presentation. Before the work started I was given a written contract for my files and addendum to the contract. Groundwork's came out to add a drainage system to our crawl space. The crew did an amazing job! Mark, the foreman, did a wonderful job keeping us apprised of the work everyday. I had a subsidence problem that was addressed by a multi-pronged approach, a series of push piers to stabilize the perimeter of the foundation and central supports to level central beams of my home's frame. The house is now stable. The crews that did the site work were careful of my property, courteous, and showed no aversion nor complaint to go the extra mile to hand dig where it was obvious that the heavy equipment could not be brought into my fenced-in property. The communication throughout the process was great and sales support was responsive and helpful. This company hires, respects, and assists veterans.

We had our crawlspace encapsulated, some structural supports added, and a dehumidifier for humidity control installed by AFS. We just had our one year follow-up inspection done today. I don’t recall the last time I wrote a review but feel compelled to write one today. I Have hired hundreds of employees in my career, and managed a large workforce for many years. I am considered well qualified to evaluate employees. Our inspector was Sammy Stokes. He was exceptional in all aspects of the service provided, and public relations. Respectful in his tone, he displayed a high level of expertise along with a great work ethic. He is a rarity now days, AFS has a great representative, and the consumer has a great service provider with Sammy at the job site!

In February 2026, we contacted Groundwork’s with concerns about the stability of our home. Our floors were sagging, we had a large crack in our Living Room floor and hallway. We were also having trouble with mold and mildew. First, Groundwork’s Eric Reeder came to our home and inspected inside and out. Eric explained clearly what our structural issues were and how Groundwork’s could help. He also explained how crawl space encapsulation and a dehumidifier could help our mold and mildew problems. Eric was very professional and made us feel at ease. We were relieved that there were solutions to our homes issues. In March 2026, Joseph Bailey and his Groundwork’s team; Chris, Bryce and C.J. Basham came to install the needed structural support for our home, as well as encapsulating our crawl space and installing a dehumidifier. They were so professional, polite and friendly. Joseph patiently answered all of our questions, and explained about the work they would be performing. Joseph and his crew installed a floor support system in our crawl space to stop our floors from sagging, restoring stability to our home. They encapsulated our crawl space leaving it bright and clean. When the job was completed, Joseph and his team cleared all debris and left everything tidy. The work they performed has been such a relief. We have invested in the value of our home, and we are so glad we called Groundwork’s!

This was my second experience with them. The first waterproofing of an industrial building works perfectly for years now. We used to have massive floods after heavy summer rains. No more flooding! This time they did structural work to my home. They installed helical piers under a section that had no foundation. They added a beam across to support the piers and replaced rotted wood that they came across, as well. In the basement they installed waterproofing membrane and vertical steel beams along the wall. Looks good, we shall see if it stands the test of time.

From the rip I was impressed with AFS. I learned about the through an Instagram ad and they made it super easy for me to let them know that I was having problems with my crawl space. I filled out a thing on instagram and within minutes someone from AFS called me. After that an inspection was scheduled and that's where we met Paul. Paul was awesome, super professional but laid back just enough to make us feel super comfortable, and we never felt like he was trying to up sell us on anything. He communicated very well throughout the entire process and even hooked us up with an electrician that they use for jobs (SES). He was really a top notch sales person. Then the guys on the job. AFS has an excellent communication system that sends you texts with links to where the crew is at when they are headed your way and even it even lets you know that the crew has arrived at your location. The job for us took 3 days and it was super smooth. Alex, Sam and Braxton did an excellent job doing the work, cleaning up and being very professional. They even stayed late the last night on the job to wrap it up and even though they didn't leave until about 9:30 that night the site was cleaned up to the point that you wouldn't even know that they were just working there. All in all I can't recommend AFS enough. 10/10 we are very satisfied with the entire experience!

I had THBS encapsulate the crawlspace in my Raleigh home this past week. Charles, DJ, and Leonard did an amazing job! They were timely, efficient, clear communicators, and the quality of the work is outstanding. I work from home, had been having significant issues with mold exposure over the past 1.5yrs, and only recently realized what it was. Since last week I am having no further symptoms of mold exposure and my house has rapidly gotten back to normal. 54% humidity in house, and 54% in crawlspace as I type. Used to have to wear a respirator to go in crawlspace before encapsulation. I highly recommend them, and will probably have them level my driveway next! I cannot thank them enough.

I can’t recommend this company enough! I had a difficult retaining wall repair that involved digging through lots of rocks. This company was able to do the repair for 1/3 the cost of a competitor. Emily did our estimate and was very thorough and straightforward. I really like how she coordinated with her supervisor and work crew foreman right there on site using video chat so that there were no after the fact surprises on the estimate. Andres Perez was our project foreman and I feel like he thoroughly exceeded my expectations. He was very easy to get in touch with and answered all of my many questions.

Mark came by and did an exemplary job explaining the settlement symptoms we'd been seeing (interior drywall cracks) and identified other issues we hadn't (unlevel floor, exterior cracks. He showed us pictures of what he found (in the sub floor and mapped it out in a diagram, which really helped to visualize things. Answered all our questions and gave us options for solutions. Also really appreciated that he kept the appointment even though he had been stuck in traffic coming from Modesto to South Bay in the afternoon and we had to go late. Thank you, Mark!

We have needed to waterproof our basement for about a year and had priced out several companies before choosing AquaGuard. The lifetime warranty and the quality of the work made the slightly higher (but still competitive) price worth it. We worked with Joey on our inspection and project plan, who was thorough and patient in answering all of our questions and walking through everything that would be done. Our foreman was Kevin, with his crew, Curtis and Corey, who were professional, arrived on time, and took great care when inside and outside of our house. They protected the belongings we couldn't remove from any concrete dust generated during the demo, and left our basement cleaner than when they arrived. We appreciated the communication the day before the job started and the communications throughout. No question was a dumb question to the team, and we felt very confident in the job (but hope we don't have to put it to the test too soon). We are very happy we chose AquaGuard.

I wanted to share my positive experience with Aaron Nelson from Groundworks. He was incredibly patient and thorough while measuring the foundation of my home and didn't recommend repairs because the measurements were as expected. He spent about an hour and a half taking measurements and clearly explained all the different levels, and he even explained how Groundworks repairs cement foundations by filling them in and lifting parts of the house. Aaron is knowledgeable, honest, and services most of Northern California. I highly recommend him and Groundworks!

We recently had Groundworks come out to address a washout problem in the driveway. When I called, they had an inspector out the very next day which was impressive. More impressive than that was the inspector himself, Chris. He not only addressed the issue that we are going to have corrected immediately but, he also inspected something of concern on an inside wall and our entire foundation. He was honest, thorough, very kind and professional. Starting with Mark walking us through what the needs were to solve our foundation leaking and cracking…he was very professional, knowledgeable and talked with us in terms we could understand. The work crew of Daniel Johnson, Sofia Gick and Stacey Scott were very kind in explaining exactly what they were going to do and even helped correct some of the areas we failed to prepare in advance for the installation. Sofia maintained constant communication with me as I couldn't be at the job site due to work. She even made accommodations for meeting with my disabled mom when a form needed a signature…Thanks Sofia. The whole crew took the time to explain what they had done as modifications had to be made to the plan once they were on site. Just a great experience! We had talked with a local excavation contractor about the job. I'm so very glad we went with JES! The price may be more but the professionalism and kindness of Mark, Daniel, Sofia and Stacey was definitely worth it. We are having JES Foundations do another job at my grandfather's house. AFS came out to the house today to install 5 piers around one corner of my home. The crew that showed up consisted of David, Bobby, and Jesus and they were all friendly and professional. They got right to work and did a good job of looping me in at every step to ensure I understood what was happening and why. I am very pleased with the job they did and how they cleaned up after the work was done. I would recommend AFS (and this crew specifically) to anyone looking for a company to complete foundation repairs.
