Groundworks Welcomes Charlie Knutson as Driven, Growth-Focused General Manager

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Aug. 7, 2019) – Complacency and stagnation are foreign concepts to Charlie Knutson. Knutson, who recently joined Groundworks as a general manager, always is looking to continue growing to his fullest potential.

“I’m working on a larger team with great people and a greater purpose,” he said. “I see the opportunity in growing my skills and the capacity to lead at higher levels. I like the idea of being on a winning and growing team.”

Knutson has 15 years in the construction field under his belt, and he spent six years as a general manager focusing on growth and culture at a major basement waterproofing and foundation repair company in Colorado.

While he cherishes his past experience, Knutson was eager to take a different path in his professional life. He was drawn to Groundworks because of the company’s values and existing team.

“The great leaders on the executive team captivated my attention,” he said. “It was (CEO) Matt Malone’s vision and (President) Mike Irby’s energy. They can take us where we need to go. The business is moving in a direction that everyone can see. It’s positive change.”
