Groundworks Announces New Division and Promotions to Support Growth
New South Division to be led by industry veteran Ben Flowers
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Jan. 5, 2022) – – Following the recent acquisition of Alpha Foundations in Florida, Groundworks®, the nation’s leading foundation and water management solutions company, announced it will be adding a new division to the company’s operational structure. The newly created South Division will be comprised of four brands with 14 branch locations including, AFS Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists, AquaGuard Foundation Solutions, Florida Foundation Authority, and Alpha Foundations. The move strengthens the leadership structure for the company’s growing local brands and provides increased support for customers in the Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida markets.
Appointed to lead this new division as the Divisional Vice President is industry veteran, Ben Flowers. With nearly a decade of experience with AFS Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists, Flowers has advanced from Certified Field Inspector to General Manager, and most recently served as the MidSouth Regional Manager for Groundworks. In his new role, Flowers will oversee leadership development programs for the brands, lead new product launch initiatives, and continue to grow the business in those markets.

To support the growth of the new Groundworks South Division, additional roles and promotions were also announced within the organization. Regan Williams, former General Manager of the AFS Chattanooga branch was promoted to South Divisional Sales Manager. Rick Malphurs, former Director of Sales for Alpha Foundations, was promoted to Florida Regional Manager. Sean Forrest, former Director of Production for Alpha Foundations, was promoted to Florida Regional Operations Manager. Cody Brakeman, former General Manager of the AFS Birmingham branch, was promoted to MidSouth Regional Manager.

As a result of the announcement, the following additional organizational change will also be made. Regional Manager Pat Combs will transition from the Southeast region to the Northeast Region, which will include the Pittsburgh, Central PA, Philadelphia, and Baltimore branches. Combs will relocate to the Philadelphia office.
