"I need to apologize to Gavin and Jonathan for not writting this review soon enough, I simply got tied up and forgot until I found the review form. I do hope they can still win any company benefits because they were the best workings I have talked to in a ling time. Informative of the steps, respectful and careful of my property and of course doing the job quicker than I could get pictures of it.
And unfortunately I cant recall the Project Managers name, but his card is here on my desk somewhere, and he was very helpful on working with me on raising my porch. A previous company told me they had a minimal cost of $1,500 for the foam injections, where AFS did the whole job for a little over that amount as they do so much, they have no minimal charge.
He also told me the 3 jacks I had been quoted by other services was not needed (I knew that, but he confirmed my knowledge and earned my respect by telling me the truth).
So hopefully all 3 will win any company benefits for this, I very seldom give 5 stars, only when a company fully exceeds my expectations. At least now I do not have to worry about my porch falling into the abyss."
Common Causes of your Crawl Space Problems in Savannah
Homeowners in the Savannah area might be curious why crawl spaces in many local homes face persistent issues. This largely boils down to how the region's environmental conditions interact with the structure of these spaces. Savannah's climate experiences distinct moisture variations throughout the year, leading to shifts in the soil under and around many homes. Local yards with poor drainage may exacerbate this by allowing water to accumulate near the foundation, increasing the risk of soil movement. Unlike basements, crawl spaces can be particularly sensitive to these conditions because they sit closer to the ground, making them more vulnerable to the expansion and contraction caused by moisture changes.
Such environmental factors put stress on your crawl space, affecting its structural integrity. As moisture levels fluctuate, the soil can swell or shrink, causing the ground beneath to shift. This movement stresses the crawl space, potentially leading to foundation cracks or gaps, uneven floors, sticking doors, and even pooling water. Homes in this area often exhibit signs like these, which, if caught early, can lead to strategic interventions that protect the home's structural health. Recognizing these warning signs promptly is crucial to minimizing further deterioration and avoiding costlier repairs in the future.
