Concrete Lifting & Leveling in Corona, CA

Review Logo 4.9 (127)

In Corona, California, uneven concrete can be a big issue due to soil erosion and natural settling of the ground. If you're dealing with sunken slabs or settled concrete, our PolyRenewal™ polyurethane injection can help. This method involves injecting expanding foam beneath the surface to lift and level your concrete slabs. This process not only stabilizes the base, but also fills any voids created by movement in the soil. This solution is ideal for walkways, driveways, and patios that need slab leveling without the mess of replacement.

At Groundworks, we specialize in concrete lifting and have provided expert solutions for over 30 years. Our skilled, certified inspectors offer free inspections and personalized solutions to meet your needs. With an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, we're committed to ensuring quality service for every homeowner in Corona. "In early 2025, I watched the series of videos put out by Mike Rowe on his Youtube channel where he accompanied a Groundworks team on a jobsite and then interviewed Matt Malone, Groundworks' founder. Those videos encouraged me to put Groundworks on my contact list because I knew we would eventually contract them to help us with water and foundation issues for our raised foundation home in southern California. I first met with DALTEN in December 2025 to discuss our areas of concern and receive his inspection. He spent literally hours thoroughly measuring and documenting our home's underbelly before coming to the table to meet with me over his tablet device on which he recorded all the information we needed to make an informed decision in the approach to repairs. Their balanced use of technology and face-to-face discussion was exactly what was needed to effectively communicate with us about the whole process. We signed on that evening to schedule the work. I scheduled with them to start in January 2026. The Groundworks system emailed and texted with me to keep me updated on time of arrival and what to expect throughout the project. On the first day, ROGER, JUAN, and JORGE came to our property right on time and were ready to go within minutes, fully suited up for their mission under our house. Roger projected 4 or 4.5 days for the job completion and he stuck to that; they began Monday and ended Thursday. Dalten and Roger worked to ensure our plan was both achievable and met the engineer's specifications with respect to the leveling beam installation. A modification was made on the fly to rework some of our trenching and the change was easily conducted electronically between the team and me. Roger discussed everything at the end with me over the phone since I was away. He also sent me photos of the finished product. After talking to Jorge, I decided to go under the house with him and Juan for a brief period so he could show me where future electrical would be needed to properly connect the pumps they installed. They were courteous to show me how to safely get into the crawl space and then how to exit. Finally, the guys went above and beyond by informing me about a leak point coming from one of our bathrooms and made recommendations for services outside the scope of their work based on what would be best for us. I cannot praise the Groundworks team enough, a really solid bunch of people who are doing home repair the right way. Thank you guys!"

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Corona

Wondering why your home in this area may need concrete lifting? Many homes here are built on a variety of soil types that can cause issues over time, particularly clay-rich soils. These soils have a tendency to expand and contract significantly with changes in moisture levels, a phenomenon known as soil heave. While Coronado may not experience the extreme freeze-thaw cycles found elsewhere, the seasonal moisture fluctuations common to our region can influence the stability of concrete surfaces. This can lead to uneven settling of driveways, patios, and other flatwork, making it essential to understand how these ground dynamics affect your property.

As the soil beneath your home shifts, it can place considerable stress on concrete surfaces, leading to cracks, sunken areas, and uneven surfaces. Your foundation might also experience stress, resulting in cracks, uneven floors, or sticking doors and windows. These issues often start subtly but can worsen quickly if not addressed. Trapped water due to improper drainage can exacerbate these problems by increasing soil movement. Spotting these signs early allows homeowners in Corona to address potential hazards before they escalate into more costly and damaging repairs. Understanding these soil behaviors can help maintain a stable and safe home environment.

FAQs

Polyurethane foam lifting is often more cost-effective compared to traditional methods like mudjacking or full replacement. It generally requires less labor and time, which can lead to savings, making it an attractive option for many homeowners.

Lifted concrete typically matches the rest of your slab or walkway well because the technique is designed to raise the existing concrete back to its original position. However, any cosmetic repairs or color matching can be discussed during the lifting assessment to ensure the best possible match.

Signs that your concrete may be sinking or settling include visible cracks, uneven surfaces, pooling water, or gaps between the concrete and adjoining structures. You might also notice doors or windows sticking due to subtle shifts in the foundation.

During a concrete lifting estimate, a professional will assess the area to determine the extent of sinking or settling. They will discuss potential solutions and costs with you, often using specialized equipment to measure the exact level of sunken concrete slabs. This meeting will help you understand the process and what the job will entail.

While concrete lifting can address existing sinking or settling, it does not necessarily prevent future issues. Factors such as soil conditions, drainage, and underlying structural problems can contribute to future movement, so it's important to address these root causes where possible.
