I believe in doing the right thing, always. It's how I run MY business, and I'm always hopeful others will be as fair and honest with me as I am with them. I reviewed Groundworks a few days ago based on my recent experience with their work on my foundation repair, which was in, all honesty, a total failure. I expressed disappointment in the expectations that were set by the salesman/certified field inspector, but wholeheartedly praised the four-man crew who did the actual work. Their communication was great, they were very professional, tried hard to deliver the results we ALL wanted, but ultimately left my house dejected because of the fail. My repair job was not particularly difficult (my own two-man crew got it done in a few hours), but in hindsight, it was agreed that the proposal didn't make total sense and probably should have had more input to find the best solution — another set of eyes perhaps. After posting my review, which was honest but not flattering, the local manager, Jack, reached out to me to apologize and ask what the company could do to make things right. That has NEVER happened before to me. Once that check is cashed, it's always been "see ya later sucker". He asked if he could drive down to my home 100 miles away in the aftermath of a bitterly cold ice storm and see for himself the project and try to determine why it failed. What ensued was a step-by-step recounting of the initial appointment by the field inspector, the proposed solution, and an inspection of the results. To my utter surprise, Jack and his partner Blake, were in complete agreement with me that the work failed, the solution was not adequate, and that the expectation level was perhaps too high. There was a disconnect between what SHOULD have been done and what was actually done. Both Jack and Blake listened to me, something men rarely do when dealing with a woman. They were genuinely embarrassed by the results and not once became defensive or insulting or in any way condescending. THAT IS WHAT GOOD BUSINESS PEOPLE DO. It's what businesses do when they care about their clients and want to grow their business the right way. It's doing the right thing, and it pays off. To my surprise, they offered a full refund and even left in place their expensive piers and jacks. It was the right thing to do, but the unheard-of thing. There was no negotiating, no haggling — just a sincere apology, an acknowledgment that I was right, and a friendly handshake to seal the deal. In the end, the job on this house was a failure, but Groundworks earned future business from me because I believe they are truly interested in the client and the results and not just chasing dollars. Integrity is a scarce commodity in this world, but today, Jack and Blake demonstrated it in spades, and for that I say thank you. Although I was disappointed in my personal results, I think we all learned a lesson. We both will use this as a coaching/learning lesson. I will still be wary of salesmen and quick resolution proposals, but I believe this company is sincere in its motivation to do the right thing. When my neighbors come calling to ask for a referral (and they will), I will be honest, and tell them, yes, I recommend Groundworks. Honesty trumps everything. Thank you, Jack and Blake, for doing the right thing.

The Rep was Mark Beamer that came out this past weekend, which I wanna say is awesome for anyone that works long week-days. Mark was very professional and informative about the issues I was telling him about and adding the possible causes and outcomes. He even went out of his way to laser level the inside of the house to double check the structure itself. So far I was quoted for the driveway and am in the process of working with the building now and loan provider to get the fixes my driveway needs now as water is coming right toward my house and basement. Regretfully, I encountered several Health Related Issues and my wife and I had to place on indefinite hold, how we were going to prepare the basement for the work project. Conner forwarded my message to the East Point Branch of AquaGuard, and Corey contacted me in less than 24 hours. Bryan listened to us, made some absolute wonderful suggestions to the Project, reworked it with a revised quote and we signed the revised quote immediately. This discovery led to the need for a professional installation to remedy the problem. On April 15, 2026, I had the pleasure of meeting my installation crew: Shakeen B, Darnell L, and Benard M. They contacted me beforehand to let me know when they would arrive. Upon their arrival, the crew explained in detail what the installation process would entail. Their clear communication ensured I understood each step before the work began. The crew promptly began the job, completing all tasks efficiently. Once the work was finished, they thoroughly cleaned up the area. Photos were taken of the completed work, and I was advised that these would be sent to me for my records. Along with the installation work, they also helped clear all the sandbags away from the work area. I’m thankful for their willingness to go above and beyond the scope of the job. It was a huge help. Our garage slab had settled significantly in areas preventing water from draining out and in some locations, the soil had settled under the concrete 8 inches below the visible concrete settlement of four inches. Within a couple of hours Manny and Atiim had lifted all the slabs to provide excellent drainage. Additionally, simultaneously they worked on our front entry to stabilize that concrete from cracking and settling. The two of them then caulked of the seams. Brian German is our foundation recovery systems inspection technician. Brian came out today on our annual service call checked out all our systems. Checked the level of our house perimeter all the way around checked our walls,floors and ceilings for movement. While Brian was here he helped us with another issue we had which was the drain from our whole house heating system had gotten clogged but was under the encapsulation. Brian opened the encapsulation located or drain line cleaned it out for us and resealed the encapsulation. We have a different technician each year for our annual inspection and I really hope that Brian is our inspector from now on he's pleasant and thorough.
