The foundation footers are the critical load-bearing elements that distribute the weight of your home to the soil beneath. When these footers, or the solid directly supporting them (which includes the base of a slab-on-grade foundation), begin to settle due to unstable ground, a deep and robust solution is required to restore stability.

Push piers and cracked foundation. 3D cut-out illustration.

When shifting soils compromise your foundation, Push Piers offers a powerful solution by transferring the weight of your home to solid bedrock or stable, load-bearing stratum. Unlike solutions that rely on shallower soil, these piers are hydraulically driven deep into the earth until they reach unshakable ground. This provides exceptional lifting capabilities and ensures lasting stability for your settling foundation. Discover if deep-driven Push Piers are the answer for your home with our free, expert foundation assessment.

The varied soil conditions found throughout many regions, including areas with expansive clay, sandy loams, or high water tables, demand a versatile foundation solution. Helical Piers offers precisely that. During installation, we monitor the torque (rotational force) required to advance each pier, which directly correlates to its load-bearing capacity. This allows us to achieve predictable, engineered support in a wide range of challenging soil profiles, ensuring your home is anchored to a truly stable stratum. Whether for existing homes or new construction, helical piers adapt to your property’s specific needs. Discover if this precision anchoring is right for your home with a free, detailed assessment.

Basement and Foundation Wall Solutions

Your basement walls are critical to your home’s structural integrity. When these foundation walls experience pressure from external soils, they can bow, crack, or move inward. Our specialized solutions are designed to stabilize, strengthen, and restore the integrity of your home’s basement walls.

The best time to address bowing or cracking basement walls is as soon as you notice them. Carbon Fiber Reinforcement is highly effective proactive measure, especially when bowing isn’t yet severe. By applying these ultra-strong carbon fiber straps, our experts can strengthen the wall structure, seal existing cracks, and prevent further inward movement. This targeted approach can limit future damage and may help avoid more invasive repairs down the road. The SettleStop IntelliBrace™ system is particularly effective when foundation walls have just begun to show stress. These adjustable steel beams provide robust support, halting inward movement. By addressing the issue early, you can often utilize a less invasive fix and protect your foundation’s integrity for the long term. Don’t wait for the problem to worsen; get a free expert assessment to see if IntelliBrace™ is your best solution.

Wall Anchors 3D illustration cut out.

When basement walls begin to fail under external pressure, you need a solution that offers lasting stability. Wall anchors provide just that by ingeniously using the strength of the surrounding earth. A wide interior panel distributes support across the wall, while a deeply buried anchor provides an unyielding resistance point. The connecting steel rod can be tighter to pull bowed walls back, ensuring your foundation remains strong against hydrostatic and soil pressure for years to come. Discover the long-term benefits of wall anchors for your foundation – request your complimentary inspection today.

Crawl Space Support for Floor Joists

The crawl space beneath your home provides essential support for your floor structure. If you’re experiencing bouncy, sagging, or uneven floors above your crawl space, it often points to inadequate support for your floor joists. Our targeted solutions restore stability to this critical area.

You do not always need to address the entire foundation when the problem is localized to your crawl space. If insufficient support beneath your floor joists is causing unevenness or instability, the SettleStop IntelliJack™ system offers a targeted and effective fix. These specialized jacks are designed to strengthen your crawl space structure, providing the necessary support to stabilize and potentially re-level floors above, ensuring a more solid and comfortable living space. Learn if IntelliJack™ is the precision solution for your uneven floors – schedule your free inspection now.

Our experience in a new home with mold spores was extremely frustrating. With the uniqueness of our crawl space we were uncertain to what the best solution would be and Groundworks help this resolve our issue. Luis Vasquez, Sa Aung, and Emanuel Valdez where the tradesmen that showed up to perform the work. They were very professional and willing to overcome the obstacles that our project enveloped. They were very positive and knowledgeable the entire time and they took great pride and care in the work that they did. I would highly recommend them for any job that I had to do.

Eric and Ryan did a fine job and worked a strong, hard day to get my enormous driveway leveled and lifted to the best they can given the circumstances and conditions of my concrete. My house is nearly 60 years old and my concrete definitely was not in the best condition or ideal dimensions to make a perfect repair. It wasn’t horrible, but I didn’t want to wait until someone busted their face on my driveway to make it safe to walk on. Even with the portions of the driveway that resisted getting perfectly level, I’m happy to avoid needing to replace my concrete and now that everything has been stabilized with foam and no longer need to worry about the driveway for years to come. I may consider grinding down more high spots on my own if it’s an issue clearing snow this winter with my snow blower. If I tried to do this job myself I wouldn’t have done a great job because the shear volume of foam that was needed to do the job was enormous. Plus, any foam I could have used would have been inadequate for the job it was designed to perform and I don’t think I could have injected foam fast enough to make much of a difference. Granted, I could have searched and found something to use, but man given my tight schedule with a toddler and work, it’s nice to get to done by someone who has all the right tools and skills to ensure that nothing is overdone. I didn’t want to pay for equipment that I was needed for this specialized job. (Although I could have looked for rental equipment….) Anyways! For a two man crew tackling a 1000+ sqft driveway racing against the rain, wow what a performance! Eric and Ryan were very responsive to any questions I had during the job, which was very nice. I wish they spent more time blowing off the dust and debris off the driveway and in my garage, but it started raining shortly after they left so I guess there isn’t much that could have been done. I’d give five stars for the work Eric and Ryan did, but I’m giving four stars because Groundworks backed out of repairing the public sidewalk that we originally agreed upon due to “Liability Issues” which was the original reason I called them in the first place because in my city I am responsible for repairing/maintaining my public sidewalks. Although Jacob, the representative to helped develop the service agreement and initially inspected the concrete, pushed back to keep it in the scope of work, Groundworks didn’t want to risk damaging the road repairing my sidewalk getting the city involved. They do advertise sidewalk repair, which is why I’m bringing it up here in a review… if you’re trying to get your sidewalk repaired you may need to just get it fully replaced or get trip hazards ground down (I got my sidewalk ground down from someone else) lifting/stabilizing public sidewalks you’re responsible for maintaining may be out of the question- at least for Groundworks. I recommend Groundworks and likely will call them again for future work on other projects around the house. I just wish they would have helped me with my sidewalk because it was a scramble to find someone to help grind down the sidewalk in the timeframe I was looking at getting the work done. Thanks Jacob, Eric, and Ryan for helping with my driveway!

Our driveway/sidewalk was uneven and becoming a hazard for neighborhood walkers. We contacted Ohio Basement Authority to give us an estimate and complete the project. Our estimator, Charles, was prompt, polite and professional. Today, John and Ethan came to level the concrete. From the moment that they got out of the truck, they were exceptional. They kept us informed through each step of the process and the work could not have been better! They represented the company with pride and professionalism. Our driveway/sidewalk is nearly back to the way it was when it was installed nineteen years ago. I would recommend this company and these employees time and again!
