Groundworks – Rush City Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity

The Groundworks – Rush City (formerly Innovative Basement Authority) team is getting their hands dirty with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2023 initiative, IBA employees assisted in home builds in their local communities.

Groundworks®, the parent company of IBA, donated $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity International to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. The partnership is part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program that encourages employees to volunteer. 4,500 employees across the country will have the opportunity to volunteer with local Habitat chapters this year.

Employees at Groundworks – Rush City & Groundworks – Minneapolis joined forced to help build a home in St. Paul Park, Minnesota. Ten employees from the two offices spent an entire day at the build site assisting the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity on building a roof for a local home.

The community service project was featured on KARE (ABC) Minneapolis.

“We’re so grateful to Innovative Basement Authority for being a partner in our work to expand homeownership and advance racial equity in housing,” said Christine Wattermann, Engagement Associate at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “Thanks to contributions from our volunteers, donors, and sponsors, local families can buy homes with an affordable mortgage and build wealth for themselves and future generations.”
