Groundworks Employees Compete In Push-Up Challenge for Pediatric Cancer
Event Recap: Strength in Numbers
In December 2022, the Groundworks’ West Virginia team, formerly Basement Authority of West Virginia, joined fellow Groundworks employees across the country in the 3,000 Push-Ups Challenge to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. More than 600 employees participated in the month-long challenge, completing 100 push-ups per day, culminating in an incredible $100,000 donation to support families impacted by pediatric cancer.
The initiative was inspired by Groundworks CEO Matt Malone and carried out through the company-wide Goodworks by Groundworks program. This effort reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to serving the community beyond foundation repair by partnering with nonprofits and rallying around causes that change lives.
Employees will continue these efforts by volunteering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity to help build safe, stable homes.
How to Get Involved
St. Jude’s mission ensures that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on their child’s healing. To learn more about their lifesaving work or to find ways to support their efforts, visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital website.
