I had John with Groundworks come look at house after learning my floor was out of level. He drove over and hour each way two times and spent hours in my house measuring, and hours more on the phone with me and discovered a wall that was out of plumb due to rotted supports on an overhang, causing the overhang to pull on the wall. He gave me a $13,000 beam and interior support pole proposal that he said they could do in addition to the overhang supports needing to be replaced by a different contractor, but told me point blank that what he had proposed would likely be for peace of mind only and likely a “net zero” benefit after the supports were replaced by a different contractor, so there was really no need to go through with the work from Groundworks. He could have easily told me their proposal was necessary and I’d have paid it in a heartbeat. Hours upon hours he spent working hard on my issue, identified the issue, told me how to solve it, and Groundworks never charged me a dime, even though I’d have bit hook line and sinker if he told me the proposal was necessary. Really unbelievable level of effort and integrity, I was amazed at how passionately he cared about solving my issue in the best way for me. Once in a lifetime experience.

Had a great outcome on the finished product. Ty did an amazing job of identifying the issues and addressing them in a professional manner. He treated us with respect and really felt he listened to us. Leonard was involved from the beginning of the job till the end and did a great job of explaining the work he was doing and answered all of our questions in detail so we understood what to expect. Anthony and Ghaven did a wonderful job finishing up and cleaning everything up. Very friendly and professional. I would recommend Innovative Basement to anyone.

Abraham, Darius, and Thane were in my home on Monday. All day we could hear then laughing downstairs while they worked on our basement. They were clearly competent and very friendly, but it was the laughter that really got me. That's why the next day, when I had an event and had to go to the hospital, I was comfortable telling my husband to please tell them we were comfortable with them working there without us. Any team that gets along that well and enjoys working together that much is clearly comfortable at their work, and absolutely to be trusted. We had a blizzard after I got out of the hospital. Basement is so far so good, but I am super thrilled with their attitudes and commitment.

I want to thank you for your service to our basement since we got flooded in June. Casey came explained everything to us. He made it easy to understand. We scheduled to have it done. Leonard and Anthony were sent and 2 days later they were done after working about 10 hours per day. They were so professional and answered all our questions. They were great. Can’t say enough about them. Thank you again so much. Janice B Rosebro

Anthony, Daniel, and Abdul – Innovative Basement Authority (Groundworks) were very easy to work with and completed the job a full day earlier than expected. The work itself appears to have been done well. One concern was dust control. We had planned to remove items in adjacent rooms; however we were told it wasn’t necessary. Unfortunately, there was more dust than expected. Overall, good work, but better dust containment would improve the experience.

The people with Innovative Basement Authority have been a pleasure to deal with, starting with Jan and his assessment and thorough explanation of our options. Then came Brandon and his crew of James and Joel. They worked diligently and completed the stabilization of our basement in a timely manner and did a thorough job cleaning up. My only issue is that they forgot to plug my freezers back in after they got what they needed to in place. Thankfully, that was one of the last areas they did, so nothing was lost as I caught it right away.

Just had waterproofing work done in my basement. Got the best team I could have hoped for. The communication, accuracy of work/flawlessness of the completed project I could not be happier. Even had a couple there’s things come up & that they already knew to take care of. Thank you so much Santiago, Thain, Dakota & Abraham. Three day project completed in basically two. Very hard workers & great guys. Would highly recommend this company with any waterproofing needs!!!

The crew that came to remove and replace the existing drain tile (Gahven, Maverick, Carl, Steve, and Parker) and install new tile and a sump in our laundry room did an outstanding job. Gahven guided me through the demo process, responding to texts even after dinner time. He was incredibly helpful, confirming that I had completed everything correctly through a text and picture conversation at 10 p.m. the night before they arrived. Thanks to everyone at Innovative Basement who worked on waterproofing our basement!
Foundation Experts in Fargo
Located on the North Dakota-Minnesota border, Fargo and surrounding communities like Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Wahpeton, and Jamestown are familiar with frigid winters and humid summers. These extreme elements put stress on a home’s foundation.
Basement and foundation issues including bowing and leaking walls are common in homes near the Red River Valley. Due to the area’s positioning on a large flat plain, flooding has also been a common issue. When that excess water pools around a home, hydrostatic pressure can build up and cause foundation cracks, pooling water in the basement, and mold growth.
While weather can be a driving force when it comes to basement and foundation damage, the type of soil around your home is also a contributing factor. For areas like Fargo where silty clay soil is common, you can expect poor drainage that can lead to pooling water around your home.
If you’ve noticed cracks or leaking in your home, you’re not alone. At Innovative Basement Authority, we’ve helped thousands of homeowners in the Fargo-Moorhead area, and we are here to help with your foundation repair, basement waterproofing, and crawl space repair needs.
