"The experience over all was great. Had a few small bumps in the road. A few things were left off of the work order and scheduling was kind of slow with the electrician. My salesman, Blake took care of it all and made it right. As for the installation crew, Cesar and his crew were amazing!!! Cesar was the one that noticed the mistake in the order and was trying to get it resolved prior to coming out, but he was having trouble getting in touch with the salesman Blake for some reason, he would not answer his phone call. Once he finally got Blake on the phone, which I had to call from my number, they worked it all out. Cesar and his crew took the time to be careful of all the plants in the flower beds. They dug up the rose bushes and replanted them when they were done. Also put down plywood to save the grass. Cesar kept apologizing for the mistake in the work order, I assured him that it wasn’t his fault. Blake did apologize but his communication could be better. He did resolve the error and I’m very grateful. But a special shout out to Cesar and his crew Miguel, Luciano, and Jerman!! They were great. When they cleaned everything up, it looked better than it did when they got there. Your install crew taking the time to acknowledge my frustration and being so kind really made the difference. Great job guys!!!"
Common Causes of your Foundation Problems in Alabaster
Building a home on shifting ground? Alabaster's unique soil composition and weather patterns can influence the stability of your foundation. This region's clay-rich soils are prone to expansion and contraction as moisture levels fluctuate. During periods of heavy rainfall, the soil absorbs water and swells, while dry spells cause it to contract. Such movement can lead to gradual foundation settling which may result in visible cracks in walls or basement floors. Additionally, some properties in Alabaster face drainage challenges due to natural landscape features, leading to water pooling around foundations, exacerbating soil instability.
These local conditions place significant pressure on your home's foundation, making it susceptible to damage over time. Early signs of these issues often include uneven floors, doors that stick, or water seeping into basements. Detecting and addressing these warning signs early can prevent further structural damage and costly repairs. By understanding how Alabaster's soil and moisture behavior affect your home, you can better protect its foundation. Regularly inspecting your property can assist in identifying problem areas, ensuring your investment remains secure amidst the environmental challenges typical of this area.
Foundation Repair Solutions We Provide For You in Alabaster
The cost to fix a slab leak or a sinking foundation can vary widely depending on the severity of the issue, the type of foundation, location, and the repair method. On average, foundation repairs can range from $2,000 to $7,000. Slab leak repairs typically range from $500 to $2,000. It is essential to get a detailed assessment from a professional to obtain an accurate estimate.
Foundation cracks can appear as horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines on the walls or floor. Small, hairline vertical cracks are typically less concerning, while larger horizontal or stair-step cracks can indicate more severe issues. Cracks wider than 1/4 inch or those that allow water penetration need professional evaluation as they could signify structural problems.
The soil and terrain in Alabaster can significantly impact your foundation's stability. The area may have clay-rich soils that expand and contract with moisture changes, leading to potential shifting and settling of the foundation. Proper drainage, moisture control, and regular inspections can help mitigate these effects over time.
Foundation repair can be moderately disruptive to landscaping or driveways, depending on the repair method used. Excavation may require removing plants, trees, or sections of driveways temporarily. However, many foundation repair companies strive to minimize disruption and will restore affected areas as much as possible once repairs are complete.
Before hiring a foundation company, ask about the company's experience, licensing, and insurance. Inquire about their repair methods, warranties offered, and customer references. It's also important to understand the timeline, potential costs, and any necessary preparations or disruptions to your property.
