We had AFS come and give us a free quote. (All in all, we got 3 quotes, from 3 different companies. First quote was for $127k, 2nd quote: AFS quoted $58k – inclusive of a 10% off coupon received at time of quote, and 3rd quote: they said they couldn’t handle the job, we need to use AFS.) We had a pretty unique situation, where we were in the process of purchasing the home with the foundation issue, which AFS was kind enough (and patient enough) to make sure it worked out for us at a way later date! Once the day came for the work to start, the team, Alex, Kyre & John, arrived on time and all had a great disposition and enthusiastic attitudes! We were excited to see the process and they explained what they were doing along the way. They were very kind, well-mannered and did a fantastic job! They cleaned all their mess and even reseeded the area in which they dug, (which I wasn’t expecting that). Prior to their arrival, the cracks in our foundation were large enough I could stick my entire hand and arm through to outside! But upon completion, I can’t even fit a chopstick through it! They also encapsulated our entire crawlspace, including mold treatment and sump pumps and dehumidifiers. What was once a muddy crawlspace, that had eroded to the point of lowering FEET over time, with its own ecosystem growing, is now a usable, clean and safe crawlspace. The process is fascinating to watch and the end result is even better! The fact they offer a Lifetime Warranty for their work gives me the security I need to sleep at night, knowing my investment was well placed. So happy we chose AFS and even happier our home is fixed!

Scheduling staff then ensured that a repair time was scheduled that was convenient for me. The repair crew, Paris and Bug, showed up at the agreed upon time, explained what they were going to do and ensured that all my questions were answered prior to starting. Then the real magic happened, they were able to bring my patio, walkway, and steps back perfectly to their original positions. See photos! I couldn’t recommend this company any more highly. I had an excellent experience with Groundworks, particularly with their Certified Field Specialist, James Riley. I purchased my home in 2022 and have noticed progressive cracks in the walls and bathroom that appear consistent with normal settling. During the recent cold spell, some of these cracks seemed to worsen, and although I suspected this wasn’t a major foundation issue, I wanted a professional assessment to understand how concerned I should be. James came out to evaluate the house, and from the start he took my concerns seriously. I had initially worried that, without a clear foundation failure, my situation might be dismissed—but that was not the case. James spent over an hour thoroughly inspecting the home and walking me through possible causes, what signs to monitor, and practical steps I could take moving forward. His explanations were clear, honest, and never alarmist. In addition to addressing my original concerns, he also evaluated my sump pump system and identified some issues that, while likely unrelated to the cracking, could be improved with a modified setup. I appreciated his thoroughness and willingness to look at the bigger picture of the home’s health. Overall, I was very satisfied with the evaluation and professionalism James provided. If I ever need foundation or waterproofing work in the future, I would not hesitate to contact Groundworks again based on this experience.

Shout at to the entire crew at AFS. From my inspector, Eric Knowlton, through the Production Manager, James Such, to my hands own crew lead by foreman Nikoli Elrod and his stud group of co-foreman and installers including: Christian Parrish, Edgar Perez and Clayton Cox. I just can't say enough good things about this project and the team that installed it. Our home had experienced differential settlement along the left rear corner, needed extensive stabilization of its floor framing, and had tons of both water and vapor reaping havoc in my crawlspace. The AFS team landed like the marines and just took care of business. They called every day before heading out, as well as activating an app that let me track their progress like a pizza delivery — just not used to that with home construction projects. They showed up on time and worked late and completed our projects ahead of schedule And most importantly, they did all of this while remaining amazingly kind and respectful. These are the sort of folks you want to work around your home. Thanks again to Nikoli and crew for a phenomenal job at our home! The guy who came and did my inspection 2 years ago told me this was not covered under the life time warranty they provide. I thought that was ridiculous. But I had to live with it. Irritated with them now, Troy came out this year and said "yeah I'm going to fix that for you. It's covered under the warranty." FANTASTIC!!!!! We had James Tobin come by and do up an estimate for my mum today. She has a brick wall that's been standing for over 40 years with no problems (house was built in the early 1960's), until a big new house was built next door. They excavated right to (even a little past in places) the property line where the foundation for this brick wall is. Once done the deep basement construction, they didn't properly tamp down the ground around this new house and as a result, there still are some significant slumping issues. Including this 40+ year old brick wall, which has now cracked and has developed a lean, which is getting worse almost daily. The developer and builder of this new house refused to take any responsibility. We've had a few bricklayers come and take a look and their recommendation has been to tear down the wall and rebuild, or even suggesting to make do with a wooden fence in its place. Mum (who's 85) has been quite upset through all this, especially being buffaloed by that builder. But, after the initial online contact form and some pre-appointment calls with Groundworks, along came James Tobin this morning and the weight of all this drama, has been, for the most part, lifted. James did an excellent job of explaining who Groundworks is and what they do, how they think they can alleviate the situation and gave a thorough explanation of the technology and process involved to achieve success. James was on-time, proficient, competent, understanding and friendly. Everything you could ask for when someone comes to your door to help solve a problem! Now, if only that #@$%@&> of a developer/builder had taken this path, we wouldn't be in this mess! But, there you go. So, if you ever find yourself needing the services of concrete lifting / remediation (and the like – they do a lot) company – do not hesitate in contacting Groundworks and ask for James Tobin specifically! You'll be glad that you did! We're very happy with his visit!

Cale, Shay and Joel came to start the waterproofing project and discovered that the back wall of my house was bowing. Martin came to evaluate what needed done. The team stabilized my back wall and also did the interior work to fix the water issue. Installing the stabilizing bars wasn't easy due to so much rock. The guys worked very hard (they had to rent another machine) and got the job done in one day!! The guys cleaned up the inside and left the outside looking great!!
