After having three different waterproofing companies assess our basement we’re glad we chose BQ Basements & Concrete (Groundworks). Josh came out initially to inspect and was very well informed. He was able to answer all of our questions and explain the process and reasoning behind it very clearly. He also made himself available to answer any other questions that came up over the phone or texts. On the day of the work Steve (foreman), Pedro, Tim, and Chris arrived on time and got right to work. They took extra care to cover the few items we had in the basement and to keep dust from getting into the rest of the house. They started with some demo before working on the drain system. Steve was communicative and invited me to see their progress along the way. The crew was not only hardworking but respectful and friendly. They seemed quite efficient and finished when they said they would. They also did a great job cleaning up and left the basement cleaner than before they got there. The basement part is done well, however, the stairs part is disappointing – the newly built stairs were not made to match with the old stairs regarding distance between steps, I have safety concerns for the way it was built. He walked me through the whole process and we identified the areas of work. My living room floor was settling and we decided to provide additional support, along with the addition of a SumpPump. In November 2019, they installed two push piers under a corner of our mid-1960s house that was sinking and installed a CrawlSeal encapsulation system in the crawl space. In September 2024, they installed a steel I-beam and two engineered jacks in the crawl space under a fireplace hearth that didn't have adequate support. Both projects involved working very close to the residential gas line. In both projects, the work was done very well and completed on schedule. Each employee has been professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, and very pleasant to deal with. On the most recent project, Cameron Flynn, lead jack installer, and John Trak, certified field inspector, were terrific. We trust JES employees and will not hesitate to call on them if we need them in the future.

From the time Clint showed up to do our estimate untill the crew left having completed the work it was a great experience. Clint was very thorough and ensured we understood everything before he left. When the crew arrived the Foreman, Evan spoke in terms I as the homeowner could understand. He went over everything again and made sure I knew the scope of work, the time line, etc. Matt and Cody did a great job. They made quick work of getting all the old insulation out of the crawlspace. They all did a great job with the structural work and that did one last walk around and picked up all the old insulation down to the smallest pieces. Very professional crew

I had an appointment today to evaluate some structural concerns with my home, and the experience exceeded expectations. The inspector, Adam Chaney, was extremely thorough and professional throughout the entire process. He took the time to clearly explain what he was seeing, what the underlying issues were, and how they could be addressed. What stood out most was the level of detail and patience – this was not a quick in-and-out visit. He spent a couple of hours walking through everything with me, and made sure I fully understood the situation before wrapping up. It’s rare to come across someone who combines technical knowledge with strong communication skills. Adam represents the company very well. Honestly, give this guy a raise or something – he’s outstanding. I would absolutely recommend this company based on my experience.

We called Groundworks to have them look at the leaking basement floor. A man named Kyle came a week later to give an estimate, gave us a fair price and gave us a date for the following week. We needed drains put in as well as two sump pumps installed. A week later Ricky and Logan came. They set everything up, covered everything in the basement in plastic for protection. They proceeded to work hard, doing a lot the first day. Then came back with a third man named Cameron on the second day and worked all day, even staying a little later to finish. All the gentlemen that came were professional and friendly. The final product looks great. Once the rain commences we'll see the system in action. Overall, Groundworks did a fantastic job and I highly recommend them. Also, they guarantee their work.

My first great impression came from my phone call to see about scheduling an appointment. The young lady answered the phone right before 5 on a Friday and then scheduled a time the very next morning to have a rep come out. Mack Suits was the first man out to take a look at our home. I was impressed that he was willing to show up on a Saturday. The man is a top notch pro! Without hesitation, he crawled into very tight crawl space like a groundhog, took pics and showed me exactly what the problems were, then presented his plan to fix it. The following week Taylor Fox, David Ennis and Leuri Fraire showed up right on time as scheduled. All pros as well. They were very considerate of our home and did great work for what I consider a very fair price. I could not recommend AFS highly enough!

So beyond pleased with Tarheel Basement Systems! I'm a 2-year customer as of this week. A complete encapsulation, french drains, sump pump and dehumidifier. I receive an inspection each year around this time, my representative was John Snow, was amazing, so polite, punctual, kept me up to date on his arrival via text and phone, it was so pleasant seeing someone who "gets" customer service , and John does! He informed me my dehumidifier was not working, and would be replaced under warranty, and like clockwork as John said, he replaced it today! The easiest replacement ever, he arrived worked diligently, above and beyond! Again, beyond pleased!
