Although two general inspectors assured us that our house was level, we reached out to Bay Area Underpinning (BAU) for a more detailed assessment—and we're so glad we did! Inspector Christopher Murray conducted a meticulous inspection with radar equipment. While technically our house was level, Christopher uncovered that our foundation was sinking by inches in multiple areas, explaining the issues we were experiencing. Though the news and associated repair cost were a bit daunting as new homeowners, Christopher’s knowledge, professionalism, and clear answers to all our questions reassured us that we were in good hands. With confidence, we decided to proceed with BAU for the repair. Fredy Mora and his crew did exceptional work with the demo of the old concrete slabs and the prep for lifting, working quickly and efficiently. When my stucco began cracking, I had enough. I researched and got estimates and solutions all across the board but all recommending caissons to bedrock. Honestly, I chose GroundWorks because their plan was the simplest and their price the lowest. Needless to say, the best laid plans . . .Problem after problem arose but Manuel, Emile and Paul kept working and finding solutions. A 2 day job became 4 days. They did not ruxh and methodically overcame every issue and patiently completely fixed my foundation. Other than my wife, this has been the best value for my money.

I had my crawl space encapsulated and a support beam installed by FSM. Overall, the work was done well and my floor was level after the work they did. The only issue was the encapsulation of the sump pump and leveling of the dehumidifier. The original crew that came out put the dehumidifier of cardboard pieces from the box it came in rather than footings to keep it level. They also covered over our sump pumps completely which made then inaccessible and unable to function correctly so the sump actually overflowed and flooded the crawl space. I spoke with Amanda in the office who was so sweet, understanding, and efficient with getting another crew out to my home ASAP to fix the problem. Deshawn and Reggie came out and fixed the original issue, put the dehumidifier on risers to level it (had a laugh with me about the ridiculous state of it left by the original crew) and made sure to leave everything clean and tidy. They advised me on how to access everything in the future while maintaining the integrity of the encapsulation. The two of them really made sure I was happy with the end product.

Honestly is the best policy!!! I was scheduled for a floor support installation which means installing 4 support jacks beneath my bathroom floor. The day of the installation, Aqua Basement System foreman stop project and advise to consider replacing the entire bathroom floor inorder to fix the problem and not proceed with installing the support jack. I was shocked and appreciated by the professionalism of "doing the job right". The point is that he could have taken my money and proceeded with the plan but to the respect of the company's integrity and the loyalty to great customer service. He had chosen honesty. Alpha installed piers at our residence to stabilize the foundation. During their visit, it was noticed that another corner of the home had cracks and also needed stabilization piers. They were able to take care of the additional work while on site so we did not have to go through the permitting process again. They also repaired our sprinkler, which was not their fault, just to provide good customer service. They cleaned up our property afterward and completed all work in a timely manner. This is an update. We had an annual service on our basement sump pumps / French drains. Zaven was the technician. He arrived on time and was polite and neat. He explained his findings and showed me the dry back-up battery and advised replacement. He explained the risks of an old battery. The annual service is expensive, but this one was needed.

After a careful evaluation by Ben, Chelsea and Tyler came to our home to rectify the issues identified. They were professional educational and successful. Cannot stress how great this company is. Had an old house with foundation issues. Alan was great, came out for a free estimate, and was very honest with me. We had a lot to consider and Alan was able to give me any information and help I needed. We ended up adding beams and supports. Their team was very polite, came out and had it fixed in a few hours. Top notch work and customer service. I would highly recommend AFS. They are a bit expensive but you get what you pay for, and a strong foundation is worth every penny.

The salesman that reviewed our home told us that the work identified by him would fix the symptoms that we were experiencing. When the technicians came out to do the work, the head guy looked at our issues and informed me that the prescribed work would nothing for issues. Thus, he immediately let me cancel the work with the promise of getting our deposit back. That shows me that the company is more interested in having a satisfied customer, than making a profit. Please note their salesmen need to be better trained, so that this kind of situation does not occur in the future.

Wow! I am on the building and grounds Committee for our church and what started as a flooring moisture problem was discovered to be a crawl space moisture problem. With a complete inspection from Abe Austin he showed us our problem source and how we could remediate for the future. The encapsulation crew of John Jones, Anthony G. And Gavin P. were clean and professional all the while keeping us informed. We also had a foundation problem on the corners of our Sanctuary that AFS, with the crew of Cesar Moreno, Juan Zumora and Meguiel, placed helicals to lift and stabilize the foundation. We could not have asked for a better job, crew or price. Our church is now ready for future generations. Thank you so much for a job well done.

Alpha Foundations are the folks to call. The outstanding Alpha Foundations experience began with Ked’s arrival at our home. Ked listened to our concerns about the foundation and then conducted a very thorough inspection of not only the affected area but non-affected areas. Ked provided a complete and understandable explanation of the issues and a recommendation for stabilizing the foundation. His professionalism and clear communications really helped us decide to proceed. The excellent experience continued when Tyler, Gio, and Ryan arrived to install the push piers. Tyler provided a clear explanation of the process and gave me a timeline for its completion. These guys were very professional and took fantastic care of the landscaping while digging the holes and installing the push piers. Once when I was checking on their progress, Gio and Ryan showed me how the piers are pushed into the ground and the brackets support and fully stabilize the foundation. The next step of lifting the foundation went flawlessly. Tyler kept us fully informed of progress. They ended the stabilization process and did a phenomenal job resetting the landscaping and cleaning up the area. The final step of injecting a two-part urethane polymer into the area under the foundation for added stability and better weight distribution was done by Tory and Chris. These guys were at the top of their game and achieved phenomenal results. Their professionalism and skill were plainly evident from the moment they arrive. The cleanup after the job was so good you could not tell they were even there. Bottom line, from start to finish the Alpha Foundations team is head and shoulders above the competition. The professionalism of their staff is great and the quality of the work beyond compare. If you have an issue with your foundation or any of the areas they cover you will be glad you called them.

I’ve dealt with a few technicians over the years, but Daniel really stood out right away, he clearly knows his stuff, and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. He was friendly, respectful, and made sure I understood what was going on at every step, which really helped ease the stress of the situation. When my sump pump failed, I was pretty overwhelmed, but he showed up the same day and didn’t leave until everything was fully taken care of so we wouldn’t risk a flooded basement. Shout at to the entire crew at AFS. From my inspector, Eric Knowlton, through the Production Manager, James Such, to my hands own crew lead by foreman Nikoli Elrod and his stud group of co-foreman and installers including: Christian Parrish, Edgar Perez and Clayton Cox. I just can't say enough good things about this project and the team that installed it. Our home had experienced differential settlement along the left rear corner, needed extensive stabilization of its floor framing, and had tons of both water and vapor reaping havoc in my crawlspace. The AFS team landed like the marines and just took care of business. They called every day before heading out, as well as activating an app that let me track their progress like a pizza delivery — just not used to that with home construction projects. They showed up on time and worked late and completed our projects ahead of schedule And most importantly, they did all of this while remaining amazingly kind and respectful. These are the sort of folks you want to work around your home. Thanks again to Nikoli and crew for a phenomenal job at our home! PS: Below is a picture of them taking the time to help me lift my pool table. Completely beyond the scope of their contracted work, but illustrative of their can do attitude:)
