I first contacted Groundworks because I had a smell in my basement that I was pretty sure was wet/dampness related. It was the first smell to hit my nose when I opened the door. It was embarassing. I called Groundworks to see if they might have a solution. Warren came to do the initial inspection. He discovered that a pipe was broken in my crawlspace & recommended that I have a plumber come to fix it. The smell noticeably subsided after it was fixed. I had already decided that I would proceed with Warren's recommendations (waterproofing, installation of a sump pump & adding a dehumidifier) because I wanted the 'old basement' smell gone. The team (Ler, Htoo, EhTee & TaMla) that came to do the work were exceptional, imo. Ler let me know that the job might run over the original planned 2 days as there was some additional work because of the concrete was poured. He said they would try to get it in two, but he wanted to make me aware. He was very informative, asking me to take a look before their meal break & prior to leaving before the day so I could ask any questions. Very good communication skills. I would highly recommend Groundworks & this team that worked with me. Thank you!

I was amazing how precise they were in lifting the stab and continually cleaning up after themselves. When they were finished, Hunter and I went through checking all the door alignments and that I’m getting good air flow through all my HVAC vents. I think for the first time since I bought the house 15 years ago all my doors are open and closing correctly now. Our front steps had pulledaway from our front porch.Your crew of Isaac and Way Lay raised the steps to where they were where they had been before. At the same time they raised part of the driveway and re-caulked the driveway. They were very professional and very efficient. The finished product improved the front of our house.

From start to finish Groundworks was very professional and exceeded our expectations. Our estimator, Jerry, arrived on time and explained the process in detail even providing a short video demonstrating how the crack in our entry would be repaired. He set our expectations by clearly laying out the next steps. Lily followed up to schedule our repair stating Samuel and Kelvin would be out to handle the repair and to make sure we were prepared in advance. Samuel and Kelvin arrived on time and at the end of the job answered all of questions assuring us the repair was guaranteed and would blend in with time. He went through the checklist and even humored me by posing for a picture! His manager Daniel followed up a few days later to make sure all went well and to see if we had any questions or concerns. At this time we have none and feel this was the correct way to make the repair since Samuel had informed us there were many voids under the slab. I feel that the other options we had considered would not have addressed these issues. Daniel informed us if any concerns do come up to reach out as they would be happy to resolve these. We highly recommend Groundworks. They’re awesome!

We contacted Tarheel Basement Systems because, despite the fact that our home in Stokesdale was only 2 years old, it had a musty smell and shockingly we were beginning to see some mold spots on and around vents and in closets, including clothes. They sent out a representative (Harlan) promptly, on a Saturday, who inspected the crawl space, took readings of humidity in the wood and the insulation and overall air, took schematics of the crawl space, and plenty of pictures. He discussed the cost and options with us, taking his time, including financing options. He was extremely thorough, and we agreed on the scope of the work and cost. They initiated the project, with Jacob C and Terrence A arriving at our home early in the morning. Jacob and Terrence were extremely courteous and professional, dropped off some initial documentation, and got to work. I did not have to be home but was able to work from home for the duration of their visit and I can tell you that they worked hard for two days beginning early in the day until late afternoon. Other than leaving for home after Day 1, they did not leave the site and took minimal break time during the entire duration of their stay. Peeking out from time-to-time they took their time cutting the materials to size, and when the project was over recapped with me what they had done. My wife and I are extremely appreciative of Jacob C, Terrence A, Harlan, and the entire team at Tar Heel Basement Systems and would not hesitate to enlist them again!

I started with Matt to get some help if I had foundation issues because of water problems. After an intensive check at the point of worries, he assured me it was not a foundation issue, but eroding landscaping. He noticed a uneven concrete issue at the front of the house. Baker's from the time I signed the contract for the work until the scheduled day kept in contact with me about everything being on schedule. The day of the work Alex and Donte showed up at the time they told me. Alex told me everything they were going to do and when he would need me. Everything was done he show me the problems areas and how he was going to fix them. I was impressed with how they cleaned up the area after completion.
