We just bought a new house, and even though we've only been here for the winter, I can already tell that Basement Authority is a five-star operation. 1. They include a lifetime warranty on their work. Not just YOUR lifetime – the lifetime OF THE PROPERTY. They did the work on our basement for the previous owners, and when we bought the house, we were able to have the warranty transferred to us. If we ever leave, the next owners will be able to get the same warranty. That's how you know they do good work! 2. A week ago, I had my first yearly check-up with Matt. Ohio Basement Authority called ME to remind me that they were running a "free check-up" deal, and we scheduled it right away! They're very conscientious that way. 3. Matt is clearly enthusiastic about his work with Basement Authority, and I can tell that the same could probably be said for just about everyone working there. He was eager to tell me all about their revolutionary advances in basement filtration / reinforcement technology – some of which were only invented in the past decade. He wasn't afraid to take his time and walk me through every single system at work in my basement and the logic behind them. 4. Their work is transformative! For our first 2 months living here, the basement looked so normal that we simply thought the basement work (done by Basement Authority for the previous owners) was preventative – maybe fixing some cracks or installing drainage pipes. My mind was blown when Matt showed me pictures of our basement from 9 months ago! It had been a total mess – mud seeping in through the corners of the foundation, nauseating puddles of black mold working their way up the walls, leaks on both sides of the basement. It's a miracle they were able to fix it up into our current "normal" basement! 5. When I asked Matt for his opinion on some additional basement work we were thinking of doing (reinforcing an additional wall), he told me how Basement Authority would go about it, and he added that they had a payment plan option for 2 years same as cash. Even the financial aspect makes sense! There you have it, 5 reasons for 5 stars. Even just at the start of my experience with Basement Authority, I know they will not disappoint me!

Great work deserves high praise, and I have nothing but high praise for Ohio Basement Authority (“OBA”) and, in particular, the individuals that performed my work. I worked with the folks at their Cincinnati office on push pier installation and poly injection to stabilize and correct a foundation settlement issue on my house. Although I interviewed three different companies specializing in this type of work, I was most impressed with OBA for many reasons and ultimately decided to go with OBA, a decision which I am glad that I made. I initially met with Mark Overmyer for the initial evaluation and proposed solution to correct my foundation issue. Right from the start I was really impressed with Mark’s straightforward and comprehensive explanation of the services I would need….Mark is an engineer and even showed me the exact point where my home was starting to settle using his transit and other tools, which helped explain the number and location of push piers needed. His precision and thoroughness really impressed me. However, there were other things that made me decide to use OBA. For example, I found OBA’s contract to be fair and balanced when compared to my review of competitor contracts. Also, OBA does things by the book and got the necessary permits….that unfortunately may not necessarily always the case with other companies. I also spoke to other OBA customers and they had nothing but great things to say about OBA and how pleased they are with the work they performed. I definitely liked OBA’s product warranty and the fact that, unlike some companies, OBA does not charge an excess per foot additional charge should a pier exceed a specific depth, which could really increase the project cost should it occur. The fact that OBA does what it takes to install piers at whatever depth so required to be solid and stable and at no additional charge gave me much peace of mind. The OBA folks on the front end for sales and contracting were excellent to work with, but the actual individuals on the installation crew were even more so and absolutely outstanding in every respect. I had a crew comprised of Sean (the foreman), Elisha and Simon doing the push piers. For the poly injection part of the job I had a crew comprised of Seth (the foreman) and his colleague (sorry but I can’t recall his name). It is rare to see such a hard-working and conscientious group of workers. The moment they arrived, they impressed me with how professional and customer-oriented they were, and it was that way throughout the job. All of the great things I had heard from others about OBA when I was doing my research definitely played out on my job with these individuals. Unfortunately, the Google rating system is only five stars for the highest rating, but these fellows deserve at least eight or ten stars on a five star rating system. I found OBA to be a fine company to do business with, and the individuals I dealt with from there on every stage of the project were exceptional and did a fine job of representing OBA as a company.

Estimator ***** – I wish I could offer more than 5 stars. Joe Le Bel is the most professional tradesman I've met in a long time. Others are good too, but Joe is the gold standard. He sat with me to ask what I was concerned about and what was important to my family. Who does that???? Oh yeah, Joe did. So comforting. Joe was professional and respectful of our space. Was careful to be conscientious about where he placed his gear, tools and instruments. Super clean going under the house without tracking dirt and debris back into the house. (The inspectors from HomeGuard could definitely take notes on this!) Then, once Joe finished, he sat down with us and talked us through all the different aspects off his inspection. The technician, Mike, called the day before, then thirty minutes before to say he was on his way, and arrived on time. We walked around my house to discuss the foundation. He then took pictures, did a detailed layout, and then measured every room. He also went into the crawlspace and did the same thing. He even told me that a HVAC duct had fallen and he offered to duct tape it back up. Who does that??? We then spent time going over each of the many photos while he explained his process, and gave me the good news that my foundation was fine. He spent over 90 minutes here, gave some suggestions, and was extremely helpful. 5 stars all around. Great guy and great company. Just think if they spent this much tiime and detail at no cost, I know they would spend the time needed to do any repaiir thoroughlly as welll.

Caleb, Gavin and Jaxson came out and added the appropriate drainage system to my basement. They were fast and clean. They even filled in a hole I’d dug in the yard to investigate. We had AFS encapsulate our crawl space almost five years ago. It was expensive but we were very pleased initially. Over the years, however, I realized the installers lapped the ground sheets incorrectly directing all the water flow onto the top of the next downhill sheet. This put all the pressure of holding the water on the tape, which did not hold after years of getting wet. Our service technician Ty could see the problem immediately when I told him my concerns. He spent an unbelievable amount of time re-lapping every joint. He did an AMAZING job and I now feel totally confident that my AFS encapsulation will do the job for decades to come. Ty also took the time to explain the control panels of the sump pumps and dehumidifier so I can reset the alarms that occur when it has to go on battery back up, a fairly common occurrence in rural Alabama. Thank you Ty. You are the best.

They unfortunately were working when it was raining and cold. Derrick kept me up to date on their process and provided pictures every day. One important part for me was that they would clean up at the end of the day. I would highly recommend them.

After maintaining my old sump pump for over 20 years, it finally gave out and it was time for a replacement. I was able to schedule an appointment at a time that worked best for me, and Kyle Lockard came out to install the new sump pump. He did an outstanding job! Kyle not only installed the new pump but also cleaned out a significant amount of grime that had built up over the years. Unlike other companies that simply check if the sump pump is working and call it maintenance, Ohio Basement Authority went above and beyond, as shown in the photos. I'm extremely grateful for the professional and thorough service they provided in replacing my sump pump the right way.
