Reviewing just the quoting process: Trevor P. came out to do our quote for foundation and floor settling. He was incredibly thorough in the process, looking at signs of wear on both levels of the house, and taking plenty of measurements to map out out floors on the downstairs level. He spent plenty of time explaining what he was looking for and why, and making sure we understood the science of what was happening. Ultimately we did go for another quote out of a preference for "good enough to be safe" over "as perfect as possible", but if this was our forever home I would 100% have picked AFS to do the work. I can't promise they'll be the pick for you, but I do still highly recommend you get a quote with them in your process.

We had our foundation pier supports replaced last year and had a great experience with value for the price compared to other quotes as well as peace of mind that we made the decision for the best option. This year was our first annual service which comes with readjustment of the jacks. Ashton the service manager personally did the job and provided great explanations of what he saw with pictures and what was happening in terms of risks and things not to worry about. He took care of putting insulation back and even plugged a small hole which rodents were sneaking into the crawl space. I was in the process of deciding whether to do a new front porch or try to get my front porch leveled. I called Indiana Foundation and was put in touch with Kevin Clinebelle for an appointment and was extremely satisfied with the level of knowledge from Kevin and how Kevin took the time to explain things to me. We decided to go with a new porch due to the fact as Kevin indicated, that the brick may not be salvageable. I can tell you this, if I was going to have my foundation or porch leveled I would use Indiana Foundation because of Kevin. Kevin was polite, Knowledgeable and genuinely cared about how I was moving forward and agreed with the process we chose. He was not pushy and he was not a typical salesman who only cares about making a sale. Don’t get me wrong, Kevin would’ve loved to have the work, but it just didn’t make sense as that was explained to me after I told Kevin of the situation. Alpha installed piers at our residence to stabilize the foundation. During their visit, it was noticed that another corner of the home had cracks and also needed stabilization piers. They were able to take care of the additional work while on site so we did not have to go through the permitting process again. They also repaired our sprinkler, which was not their fault, just to provide good customer service. They cleaned up our property afterward and completed all work in a timely manner. If your building/home is sinking, Groundworks is your solution! My neighbor was getting their building lifted so I decided to get a quote since we are on the same soil. I was very impressed with Cody Wellner who came to give me a quote to just keep 1/4 of my building from sinking any further. He took photos in my crawlspace to show me the cracks that I can't see as well as showed me the cracks on the outside. I asked if I should put support in other parts of my building and he said it isn't needed. Because he didn't try to upsell me which I have felt other companies did try, I felt this company is one I could trust. The whole process was incredibly easy. Groundworks worked with my city to get the permit and once it was approved, scheduled the work quickly. Richard was assigned as the lead for the work. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You will be satisfied with your experience! We recently completed a large foundation project with Groundworks in Edmonds, WA — a roughly $70,000 job involving permits, engineering reports, and significant structural work. Given the scope and importance of the project, I wanted to share a complete and thoughtful perspective. Overall Experience From intake through execution, the experience was strong. The consultation was detailed, the proposed solution was clearly explained, and the permitting and engineering process — which took a couple of months — was handled smoothly with consistent updates. The crew worked efficiently, and the quality of the foundation work itself was solid. The Consultation & Planning Our home sits on a steep slope, and an addition at the back had begun to settle. Groundworks sent out Jerry for the initial consultation, and he was excellent. Jerry was knowledgeable, energetic, and charismatic, and he took the time to clearly walk us through the problem, the proposed solutions, and what a job of this scale would realistically involve. He explained the engineering considerations in plain language, answered questions thoroughly, and helped us understand both the risks and the long-term benefits of doing the work properly. From an intake and planning standpoint, we felt confident moving forward. The Project The scope of work was extensive and involved foundation reinforcement along the entire back of our house, as well as drilling and post installation outside of the foundation to properly support a failing rear addition. Because much of this work needed to be performed beneath and adjacent to our back deck, deck access was required. We discussed these access needs ahead of time, and I even removed the top decking myself to reduce labor costs, based on our shared understanding of what would be necessary. A Miscommunication (and What Happened Next) While I was out of town during part of the work, a miscommunication occurred on site regarding what deck changes were permitted. As a result, the deck was dismantled more extensively than any of us had anticipated. This was understandably frustrating — not because anyone did something wrong, but because the situation was genuinely complex and confusing. It was a conversation that perhaps should have been extremely clear about what was happening, but it wasn’t — and it wasn’t the fault of any single party. Once the issue was identified and elevated, senior leadership stepped in, and this is where Groundworks truly distinguished itself. Leadership Response & Resolution We ultimately worked directly with Nathan Malsch, the General Manager, who was professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making things right. Initially, we discussed a 50/50 split on replacement lumber for rebuilding the deck. Nathan went well beyond that agreement. The follow-up is always the proof of good service. It's pretty hard to get good contractors out here in the middle of nowhere South Carolina. When I moved into my home with a slab foundation, the last thing I thought I have to deal with was PVC plumbing pipes being used as foundation supports. Apparently the house had settled, crushing one of the drainage pipes, allowing fresh water to flow into my septic system. The plumber couldn't repair the pipe due to fear of the house sinking more. So I did some research, and chose Mount Valley Services. The work was relatively minimally invasive, and everything looked normal after the support was installed. Flashforward to today, Service Technician Bryan Curtis was able to keep me reassured about the foundation's support by solving the issues I was having with wide gaps under my doors. He had to go full Sherlock Holmes style to do it, but he figured it out, giving me peace of mind, and one less thing to worry about. All of these reports about sinkholes have me paranoid. Thank goodness my house is supported at the bedrock level. Thanks Mount Valley. Highly recommended.

The soil under my house has always been damp in the winter, but this past year I actually had standing water. The hardworking Groundworks crew came out and created a sump pump system for me. They had to do a lot of digging, but I had very little to clean up after they left. The foreman, Ryan, was very professional and good with his crew. He answered any questions I asked and showed me photos as the work progressed. I am also pleased with the attentiveness of the inspector, Leo. He answered my calls right away and made the whole process go smoothly. I asked for a follow up inspection after AMZ Electric (and other great company) installed the outlets for the pumps. No questions, Ashton came out the next day and checked out everything.

Job was started on 12/23 and completed early the next morning on 12/24; you would have never known they were working just before Christmas – their attitude was GREAT! Jarad Estes came out to my house and after doing a thorough inspection of my property he showed me everything that was needing repair and and was very informative about everything that was needed to be done, within minutes he gave me a detailed estimate and quote for the job. As a first time home buyer , I was nervous about repairs to the foundation , but Jarad reinsured me that I was in good hand and foundation recovery was the way to go. I was very pleased with the quality of work Felipe, Miguel, and Ben completed at my home. I had some sagging floor joists and major rotten wood under my bathroom floor. They arrived on time and started work right away tearing out the bathroom floor and tub. Using that as an access point they repaired the sagging joists and beams under the house. As they were working, I walked through the house and noticed stability had been restored under the floors. They completed the repair by sistering the joists under the bathroom floor and replaced the subfloor. They worked so hard and were so polite the entire time they were here and took the time to answer my questions during the process. We had Foundation Recovery complete the work on our foundation that was caused by settling. We had 5 piers placed deep into the ground thru the basement concrete floor. The job was completed by Travis Clark and Justin Geigling. They were a great team. Travis took the lead and did a great job of discussing the plan with us and keeping us informed if any changes were needed. He and Justin worked very hard on the job. We woke up to 5-6 inches of water in our subspace on 1/5/26. We called Groundworks and they sent Max Gibson out within 24 hours to make an assessment and give us a quote. He was calm ( I was not) and presented solid data (math) to support his recommendations for sump pumps and trenching to stabilize the water issue and prevent further problems. He remained available and immediately responsive to my repetitive questions throughout the process and coordinated services with remediation crews and electricians. I am confident that Max saved us money by ensuring services weren't duplicated. The crew working under our house was equally purposeful and patient. Erick Baez and Tejon McGee spent several days under our house and in and out of our house. They were respectful of the environment at all times. All work environments were covered with plastic and they wore gear to protect themselves and our home. They tidied up each evening when they left. Communication was tight. Erick, Tejon, Max were all on the same page from day 1; They had a plan and worked the plan. I had some anxieties about possible rain before the project was done. Erick came up with a temp fix that addressed my fears and took some extra steps to put it in place. No one made me feel stupid for needing that extra step. They walked me through the completed project which was very helpful. I should also mention that I did get a other quotes. Groundworks was not the lowest quote by a bit. But, they are professional, backed their recommendations with data, and followed up after the project was complete. I recommend this company. Solid organization.

We just completed our foundation work with Indiana Foundation. Because of the depths of the concrete pillars, much more excavation was required than planned and much more landscape alteration and subsequent work will be required. This is just the nature of these kinds of projects and certainly no fault of the company at all. Just as a homeowner, be prepared for things to be more involved than you originally anticipated. This is the only reason for the four star rating instead of five, because things were much more involved than we planned, much more landscape alteration, which will cost money to put back together, double the length of the initial anticipated time of the project… Those kinds of things. The personnel, however, were excellent. See below. Fortunately, we had a superb team on site… Andrew, Anthony and his brother Jeremy. They were present every day until the lift was done, which took several days because one of the pillars was very deep. These young men were remarkable representatives of their company. Very pleasant, easy to understand, and clearly were knowledgeable at their profession. There were times during our project where we were frustrated with the amount of dirt removed and they took great care to damage none of the property, or any of the trees or other wooden features of the home as they were doing their job. The cleanup was very good at the end. We were happy to have these three men on site and appreciate their experience and know how. High marks for them. We also had some steps that had subsided raised with the polyfoam, and that was very straightforward and very successful. We have one more set of steps to go, and then we will be complete. Lastly, we also had the opportunity to meet Colby, a supervisor. A true gem of a man, he inspected the project during the height of our frustration and helped reassure us about the eventual success and ultimate resolution of things. His presence and repeat timely communication was invaluable. Thank you, Indiana Foundation!
