I tried calling Brad, no answer. Tried texting him, no response. Brad even changed a line item that he had listed in the proposal to replace damaged subfloor. When I signed the contract. After I signed the contract, I asked Brad for a copy of it and to send me photos that he claimed he took. Never did see neither one. If I could have had a copy of the signed contract seeing that Brad had deleted the line item to replace 20" of damage subfloor. I WOULD HAVE CANCELED THE JOB. MY THINKING IS IF BRAD DID THIS TO ME. HE PROBABLY DID IT TO OTHERS. Quinton, Victor and Kenny did the best job to get the repair to a satisfactory repair. To all that's wants to get work done by AFS. PLEASE DONT TRUST BRAD PREFONTAINE. When it came time to lift the house, they did it in increments and let us check to make sure the windows closed correctly and the existing drywall cracks did not change in size. The team of 4, including co-foreman Lee and installers Zero and Angel, carried out well-coordinated duties that culminated in job completion on a Sunday. After reviewing with me (homeowner) the work performed, it was very apparent that they had exercised great care in leaving landscaping within and adjacent to the needed excavations as close to how they found it.

If you need foundation repair this is the company to call! I would like to commend Jay and Karl for their professionalism and customer service while fixing the wrap around deck of my 20 year old home. I was late getting home and they had already consulted with my wife prior to starting work. When I got home I was greeted by Karl who gave me a quick rundown on how the work was going. Jay also showed me how they had already fixed the worst area of the deck and were stabilizing what remained. I felt I was in good hands because they were so happy in what they were doing and had such great attitudes about the work. Their enthusiasm in their job was refreshing to see. I would also like to thank Ethan for coming out for the initial inspection and explaining how the job would go. Both Ethan and Jay explained the 5 year warranty and how it works.

Gavin, Julio & Margarito’s professionalism was exceptional! I requested a 2-day project (Thu-Fri) since the job was quite extensive (installation of 8 helical piers to include 1 corner of our 121-yr-old renovated home). However, upon arrival through the end-of-day, this 3-person crew was nose-down, working hard, and communicating with us consistently throughout the entire day. End result: We only needed 1 day versus 2! Excellent workmanship, cleanup, respect of property and most importantly there were no shortcuts taken and we got our Friday back! We highly recommend AFS and THIS Team! Great work and kudos to Gavin, Julio, & Margarito.

Before conducting the inspection, he thoroughly explained the entire process and what Groundworks’ specialized in. Following his extensive inspection, he reviewed all of his findings, including pictures from the crawlspace and explained how various issues were in need of remedy. He then carefully explained the approach Groundworks would take to address these issues in a very methodical orderly manner. My wife and I were extremely pleased by Shayan’s level of professionalism and knowledge. We certainly intend to utilize Groundworks to mitigate our isssue within our budget capabilities. We had Daniel come out to take a look at our foundation to see if there were any issues that needed to be fixed under our home (a second opinion). After our first inspection we were told there were numerous issues that needed to be fixed that surely would have cost us thousands. We were considering the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program so the first inspection was a recommended foundation company through the EBB program. Daniel came out and took his time measuring the house on the exterior and interior. He was super meticulous and took settling measurements and also went under our home and took photos of the foundation. He sat with us after and explained everything to us. Turns out our foundation is stable and not needing any work. Daniel was super professional and knows his trade very very well. He was very honest. I now have a company I would call back in a heart beat if I needed to have any foundational work done. I will also recommend them to any neighbors that need this kind of company. The estimate was free as well and Daniel also had no hesitation crawling under the house on a 101 degree day to check things out. 5 star company here. Do not hesitate and call them! -Nicole San Ramon

They were very neat. They cleaned up each day before leaving. If they had to enter the house they always took off their shoes to keep from tracking in dirt and grass.
