****** and ***** did an excellent job on my concrete lift repair. My porch and front walk had dropped over 3" and they were able to bring it back up to almost the original position. They were careful not to bind my door or damage the porch rails. They explained to me the importance of having the porch positioned so that drainage went away from the house. They provided a seal and cosmetic patch between the house and porch, which was an unexpected service that they provided. I couldn't be more happy with the result! They were professional, careful and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Groundworks.

We had Groundworks correct a foundation problem in our 28-yr-old house, and install a foundation drain with sump and pump. The engineering (Jerry) and the crew (Mkoma, Waldo, Quaid and Joshua) were excellent and very professional. Mkoma provided regular updates, they all kept to promised arrival/departure times, and even finished the work on-budget and under the quoted time frame. The drain and pump perform well. Very satisfied with all aspects of their work and customer service.

I scheduled an inspection for a crack in a foundation wall that was collecting moisture. Zachariah was prompt, friendly, and thorough. I ended up not needing a quote because he noticed my neighbor's disconnected downspout as the water source but his explanations and sketches were very educational. He mentioned some services Groundworks could provide like filling voids in the driveway concrete but wasn't pushy. Thank you for the knowledge!

Samuel and Kelvin did a wonderful job on the driveway. They ground out the control joints between the driveway slabs and caulked between them to help keep water from seeping in underneath and causing problems. Added bonus – I will no longer have to weed the driveway which make me very happy. Samuel and Kelvin were professional, knowledgeable and explained the process well. They put in extra effort and it’s obvious they are detail-oriented and take pride in the work they do (meaning it’s not just a job. They really care about how it turns out). Groundworks is a great company. They have professionals who are experienced, knowledgeable and communicate very well. They explain exactly what will be done and why. I didn’t price out this job because I prefer Groundworks as they stand behind their work. I think the price was very reasonable for the work they did. I trusted them with this job because of the work they’ve done in the past and that gives me peace of mind.

Wyatt was the foreman. He and his crew: Tucker, Quiven, Zane and Dante were punctual. They shared all the information I needed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You will be satisfied with your experience! We recently completed a large foundation project with Groundworks in Edmonds, WA — a roughly $70,000 job involving permits, engineering reports, and significant structural work. Given the scope and importance of the project, I wanted to share a complete and thoughtful perspective. Overall Experience From intake through execution, the experience was strong. The consultation was detailed, the proposed solution was clearly explained, and the permitting and engineering process — which took a couple of months — was handled smoothly with consistent updates. The crew worked efficiently, and the quality of the foundation work itself was solid. The Consultation & Planning Our home sits on a steep slope, and an addition at the back had begun to settle. Groundworks sent out Jerry for the initial consultation, and he was excellent. Jerry was knowledgeable, energetic, and charismatic, and he took the time to clearly walk us through the problem, the proposed solutions, and what a job of this scale would realistically involve. He explained the engineering considerations in plain language, answered questions thoroughly, and helped us understand both the risks and the long-term benefits of doing the work properly. From an intake and planning standpoint, we felt confident moving forward. The Project The scope of work was extensive and involved foundation reinforcement along the entire back of our house, as well as drilling and post installation outside of the foundation to properly support a failing rear addition. Because much of this work needed to be performed beneath and adjacent to our back deck, deck access was required. We discussed these access needs ahead of time, and I even removed the top decking myself to reduce labor costs, based on our shared understanding of what would be necessary. A Miscommunication (and What Happened Next) While I was out of town during part of the work, a miscommunication occurred on site regarding what deck changes were permitted. As a result, the deck was dismantled more extensively than any of us had anticipated. This was understandably frustrating — not because anyone did something wrong, but because the situation was genuinely complex and confusing. It was a conversation that perhaps should have been extremely clear about what was happening, but it wasn’t — and it wasn’t the fault of any single party. Once the issue was identified and elevated, senior leadership stepped in, and this is where Groundworks truly distinguished itself. Leadership Response & Resolution We ultimately worked directly with Nathan Malsch, the General Manager, who was professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making things right. Initially, we discussed a 50/50 split on replacement lumber for rebuilding the deck. Nathan went well beyond that agreement. Groundworks purchased more than enough lumber for a full deck rebuild, had it delivered directly to our home, and even provided a Milwaukee impact driver/screwgun set along with Milwaukee bits to help with reconstruction! That level of ownership was frankly unexpected and deeply appreciated. It wasn’t just about compensation — it was about leadership taking responsibility and ensuring we felt supported after a frustrating situation. Final Takeaway Large foundation projects are complex. What ultimately matters is how a company responds when challenges arise. Based on the quality of the work, the professionalism shown during consultation, and the accountability demonstrated by senior leadership, I feel confident recommending Groundworks. We ultimately walked away satisfied and appreciative of the effort made to ensure we were truly taken care of.
