In 1975, Tim Baker founded Baker’s Waterproofing with only his pick-up truck. In 2012, Tim’s son, Brian, bought the business and expanded its products and services. In 2021, Baker’s joined forces with Groundworks, the nation’s leading and fastest-growing foundation and water management solutions company and expanded their services across Pennsylvania. The technician, Bill, just finished the first annual inspection of the installation that was completed a year ago and I wanted to add my 2 cents worth to the many positive reviews already up. From estimate to this first inspection my experience with Bakers Waterproofing has truly been 5 star! At installation the technician felt that changing to wall anchors would be a better choice and, after some discussion with the company, was able to do the job with only a small adjustment in the final price. Since that time, each time I go into the basement, I am impressed with the appearance of the work and the knowledge that that wall is secure! Add to that the personable and caring technicians that do the follow-up work and I am confident in recommending Baker Waterproofing to anyone that asks!

Marquese, Brian, and Sean arrived at 0900 and after initial explanations and paper work immediately proceeded get to work on my basement problem. These men jack hammered 75' of cement, hand carried the rubble out , installed a vapor barrier, drainage system, sump pumps, and a drainage field in the yard. They are professional, courteous, and polite. They even tolerated me being "nebby", answering all my questions, explained the warranty and anything else they thought I needed to know about the installation. Guys, you crushed it, thanks!

Dealing with structural issues is such a stressful ordeal, but all the gentlemen we dealt with at Baker's made it so much easier. Bradley Peterson was always available to answer questions and gladly came back more than once to make sure we were comfortable with his proposal and the finished product. The crew that performed the work were terrific. They showed up early and left late. They communicated about everything and best of all was their attitude. Every day for a week these men climbed under our house into a very tiny space and I heard hard work accompanied by laughter throughout the day. I never heard a comment that was negative in any way and they were always smiling. Tysean Lacks, Brennan Cole and Geovanni Medina have the best attitudes and work ethic! Any of these friendly and professional men are welcome at my home anytime. In fact, we intend to request the exact same crew for our work in the future. Thanks guys!

The fear of being taken advantage of or pressured into unnecessary work is very real and far too common. When I noticed cracks and changes in my foundation, you sent out one of your experts Gavin Melan to come and walk me through the setup, explain how the issue is identified, and show me what the correction process involves. He spoke to me as an intelligent adult — no scare tactics, no talking down to me. We just had Bakers out to waterproof our entire basement and had the best experience all around! Gavin M came out for the estimate, and he was extremely through and considered every detail! He was very kind and walked us through every step of the process. We felt so confident from go that they were going to take care of us. Tyler and his crew were on our job, and they were also amazing. They worked so hard for two days to get the job done in a timely and correct manner. We can't say enough things about not only the employees but the products they offer. We have been in our house for 10 years and have always had a wet basement but now we are able to use it for living space and we are so happy with the whole experience! 10/10 would recommend!

Today, a team worked to encapsulate a crawl space in another part of the basement. The team of Cale, Joey, Gauge, and Brad showed up on time and worked efficiently to complete the job. Everyone in the company communicates well and is responsive. The teams, both this year and last year, are extremely neat and leave the work space in great condition.

I have dealt with a lot of contractors over the years, but I have never had a better experience than I had with Baker's Waterproofing. We had water leaking into our basement from the floor due to hydrostatic pressure. Steve Cahl, our salesman did a thorough inspection and gave us a detailed explanation with a video of what was causing the problem was how Baker's would fix it. After we agreed on the contract, he told us what to expect, the date the job would begin, what time the craftsmen would show up, and how long the project would take. Everything he said was true. Their communication leading up to and during the job was exceptional. Steve always returned my calls immediately when I had questions. The gentlemen who did the work – Tyler Barnhart (foreman), Joey Pickard, and Brandon Miller were incredibly polite, pleasant and unbelievably hard working.Tyler called me the day before, and each morning to let me know what time they would arrive. They not only showed up on time, they were early both days! The job was finished in a day and a half. Their expertise was clearly evident in the quality and timeliness of their work. And their work is guaranteed for life with a transferrable warranty. Thank you, gentlemen, for a very positive experience! You rock!

I had a problem with a basement wall pushing in… Called Baker’s Waterproofing and they sent out Brad Peterson to give us an estimate on the job. Surprisingly, they had a crew here the very next day. Cale, Joel, Shay, and Will did a fantastic job inside and out. They dug a 4 foot trench and mounted six wall anchors along the problem wall. They were all polite and professional, and did a great cleanup job before leaving. If you have any type of basement problem, Baker’s is the way to go.

I am so very pleased with Baker Waterproofing because of how they handled some problems we encountered. They went above and beyond to make everything more than right. With that kind of service, I have full confidence in their standing by their warranty, should I ever (hopefully not!) need it. I noticed small cracks in my wall in my addition. We are planning to upgrade the windows and wanted to know if there was any issues with the foundation so I called Groundwork’s for their free consult. Chad came out and assessed the situation. He crawled under my deck and checked the floor for level and determined it wasn’t a foundation issue, giving me peace of mind that I can go forward with my plans. Chad was knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. I offered to pay him for his time but he refused to accept any payment. I definitely would recommend Groundworks.

The team assigned to my project delivered exceptional results and truly exceeded my expectations. The encapsulation crew—Tysean Lacks, Brennan Cole, and Geovanni Medina—demonstrated exceptional diligence and professionalism, completing the project to a standard that went above and beyond what I anticipated. While the work quality was outstanding, the company’s handling of procedural errors leaves room for improvement. Specifically, when a mistake occurred during the house jacking process—where one jack was omitted from the initial cost estimate—I was disappointed by the company’s approach to resolving the issue. Rather than absorbing the cost of their oversight, they attempted to pass the additional expense onto me, even threatening to cancel the project when I objected. Considering the premium pricing of their services, which often exceeds industry standards, such situations should not arise. To their credit, the company ultimately reduced the additional cost as a resolution, but homeowners investing significant sums—ranging from tens of thousands to six figures—should not bear the burden of internal errors. Overall, while the work itself was exemplary, I encourage the company to re-evaluate its policies for addressing and resolving procedural missteps to better align with the level of service their pricing suggests. That said, based on the overall performance and the final product they delivered, I would highly recommend them.

I hired Baker's Waterproofing when a recent plumber found a leak possibly in my foundation and recommended them to me. Baker's initial inspection uncovered that my foundation was built of cinderblocks and was leaking water from the hill behind my home as well as groundwater from below. They scheduled the work and sent out Victor and Miguel to complete a full waterproofing, French drain, pump installation and backup system. From start to finish of this project with Baker's Waterproofing, every person I spoke to was extremely professional, everything was explained clearly and concisely, and pricing was not only competitive, but extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of work completed. Special thanks to the incredibly hardworking, polite, and professional Victor and Miguel. I highly recommend asking for them by name to ensure your work is done quickly but completely.

We contacted Baker's before we made an offer on a bigger home. The mines had gone underneath, and we wanted to put the work into having a bigger home. Unfortunately, the offer on the home was not accepted, but the CFI who quoted the job was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He made me safe knowing that the home could be saved by stabilizing the foundation. We are still in the market for a bigger home and if I need any work completed, I will be calling Baker's. They really made me feel secure that I could keep my family safe if any of these situations occurred at my current home or any future homes.
