"The Groundworks crew that worked on my home foundation did a great job. The foreman, Luis G. and co-foreman Ken H. did a great job of communicating what was they were going to do that day and what would happen over the week. The foreman and installers Mark P and Leo worked hard and it got hot over the two weeks they were here. On top of that they did a great job of cleaning up when they finished their portion. Just by installing the foundation stabilizing joints and piers (I had over 20 ), it actually raised the foundation significantly without breaking windows or adding cracks in my walls. They did a great job of cleaning up after putting the piers in. A warning if they put the tarp down for the dirt dug up for the piers, on your lawn it will damage it but I am sure it will grow back. About the only thing I could complain about was the two broken sprinkler heads but they repaired it and the concrete crew out today will work on the other one. I have been impressed with Groundworks, from the original inspector Chris H. to Luis G. and his crew, I am sure that David and his concrete crew will be great as well. It isn’t cheap but for the quality of work it is worth it. Based on their work so far I would recommend Groundworks."
Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Clearlake
Have you noticed uneven floors or cracks in your walls? These could be signs that your home's foundation or basement needs attention, especially in areas like Clearlake, California. The geological makeup of this region, combined with weather patterns, often leads to soil shifting and settling. When heavy rains or periods of drought disturb soil moisture content, it can cause the ground to expand or contract. For many homes in Clearlake, this means the foundation can settle unevenly, resulting in various structural issues over time.
These natural movements put stress on your foundation, basement, or crawl space walls, potentially leading to troublesome signs such as sticking doors or pooling water. As the soil moves, it can create voids beneath your foundation, causing it to sink or crack. Furthermore, moisture can infiltrate these spaces, leading to water damage or mold. Detecting these issues early can save homeowners from more extensive damage and costly repairs in the future. Keeping an eye out for these warning signs can help maintain the structural integrity of your home for years to come.

Older homes and certain slab types, such as those that were not properly reinforced or poorly constructed, may be more susceptible to issues like sinking or cracking. Additionally, Clearlake's specific soil conditions can affect the risk levels, making it important to have regular inspections and maintenance.
