"JES installed my sump pump in October 2023. Today (9/25/24) was my annual maintenance appointment to be sure that everything was working well with it. My technician, Ben, contacted me on 9/24/24 to check in with me on any possible issues that he needed to be made aware of prior to my appointment as well as to confirm my appointment. Very professional and polite. Fast forward to the appointment, Ben arrived on time, once again was very professional. I showed him where it was installed so he could get to work. Unbeknownst to both Ben and I, well there was no power going to the sump pump. That was as easy as flipping a switch on the breaker box. Then, Ben noticed a leak in the piping that was installed when the sump pump was installed. Ben ended up having to cut my drywall in which JES will incur the cost to repair it back. But this was nothing he couldn’t handle although he did have to make an unexpected run to Home Depot/Lowes to get the tool needed to cut the pipe. Ben returned in a decent amount of time and got right to work. Ben repaired the pipe, cleaned the sump pump bucket, and ensured everything was working correctly. Towards the end of the appointment, Ben made a few recommendations and ending up finding out that the piping that is coming out of the from of my house that pushes the water out was installed incorrectly and was not was I paid for. Therefore, Ben made a call to his supervisor, Megan Hartman, to put her on notice about this issue as well. Ben assured me that someone from the service department would reach out to me to schedule repairs for the piping outside as well as the wall repair. Overall, I would give Ben a 10/10 and would highly recommend him as your service tech. He made sure to answer any questions I had to the best of his ability, remain professional, kept me informed throughout the whole appt, valued me as a paying customer, and advised me that if I had any further questions after this appt that I shouldn’t hesitate to reach out to him. Ben was AWESOME‼️ Note: Pics are from the installation back in October 2023."

Types of Concrete Damage in Owings Mills

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Owings Mills

Seeing uneven floors or sinking areas around your property? This is often caused by soil conditions that are common in and around Owings Mills. The region's soil can react dynamically to changes in moisture and temperature, leading to a process called soil heave. During periods of heavy rain, soils can absorb excess water, causing them to expand. Conversely, dry spells can cause the soil to contract. These cycles of expansion and contraction can lead to the settlement of concrete structures, manifesting as sunken walkways, uneven garage floors, or even compromised driveways.

When the ground shifts in this unpredictable manner, the pressure and movement can put stress on your property's foundation or concrete surfaces. This stress can cause cracking, tilting, or sinking in concrete slabs. Many homes locally may begin to show signs such as cracks in walls or floors that are no longer level. Sticking doors and collecting water are also indicators of these underlying issues. Early detection and intervention are key. By addressing these symptoms early, you can prevent more extensive and costly damage while maintaining the structural integrity of your home in Owings Mills.
