"Called to get an estimate to lift the concrete decking around the outside edge of my pool. The outside of that portion of the deck had subsided making the deck unlevel and left a gap between the deck and pole tile. Lee Davis came out within a couple of days. Very friendly and professional. The estimate was actually less than what I feared. Work was scheduled for the end of October, but I got a text later that said they could do it on the 1st. The only complaint I have is that when the 1st came, I didn't hear from anyone until 2pm that they were on their way (weather was iffy). Suggestion, give an arrival window like other companies or call the day before or both. I wasn't sure anyone was going to show. Shawn and Chris arrived. They are actually with a sister company from Atlanta up here helping out. They went right to work and knocked the project out very quickly. The pool is very old, so I wasn't expecting any miracles. It's not perfect due to the age of the pool, but it looks a lot better and you can feel the difference when you walk on it. 5yr warranty. Highly recommend."

Types of Concrete Damage in Williamsburg

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Williamsburg

Poor Soil Compaction

The soil beneath the concrete may not have been compacted enough during construction. Over time, the loose soil shifts and settles, causing the concrete to sink or crack.

Soil Erosion

Water from rain, sprinklers, or poor drainage can wash away the soil under the slab. This creates empty spaces, making the concrete sink or become uneven.

Climate Conditions

When saturated, clay soil expands, and when dry, it contracts. These constant changes in moisture levels weaken the support beneath the concrete.

Freeze-Thaw Cycles

Water in the soil freezes and expands during winter, then thaws and contracts. This movement puts pressure on the concrete, leading to cracks or lifting over time.

Tree Roots

Roots from nearby trees or shrubs can grow underneath concrete. As they grow, they push up on the slab, causing uneven surfaces or cracks.

Heavy Loads

Parking heavy vehicles or placing large items on concrete can compact the soil underneath. Weak soil cannot often support the weight, causing the slab to sink or crack.

Poor Drainage

Excessive rainwater or water pooling near concrete slabs can lead to soil washout, weakening the soil under the concrete.
