"It was a pleasure working with Ernest Vigil. He came to my house and did a thorough measurement of my crawlspace for the estimate. He was responsive throughout the installation process. On the second day of the job, Ernest called me and informed me that the crew told him his map for the job was inaccurate and they had to dig a lot more which resulted in an additional ~$3,500 cost. Initially he was just going to accept what the crew told him. I told him their explanation didn't make sense, and insisted that he should come over to verify. He came after the crew quit working early on that day, went down to the crawlspace and discovered the crew was digging where they are not supposed to. Then on the fourth day, when I returned from work in the afternoon, the crew was about to leave and told me they had finished everything. I didn't see the new drainage system that was included in the quote so I asked them about this. They said they connected the new sump pump to the old drainage. I remember Ernest told me their company wouldn't use previous systems because you don't know if they still work. So I called Ernest about this. The crew also didn't replace the door which was also included in the quote. I told them about this, they quickly put together a door then left. Fortunately I thought about checking it and discovered all screws were sticking out from the other side of the door with sharp tips (I almost got poked, which was why I noticed it). I told Ernest about this too. He took care of both issues and had the crew come back the next day to fix them. He then came over to inspect the work and took pictures/videos. So now the system seems to be working fine. Attached is the picture Ernest liked the most."

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Bremerton

Are you finding that your floors are suddenly uneven or your walls are showing unexpected cracks? These problems can often be linked to the shifting soils beneath your home, which is a common occurrence in and around Bremerton. The region's soil, a mix of clay and loamy earth, tends to expand and contract with fluctuations in moisture levels. During Bremerton's wet seasons, the soil absorbs water and swells, while in drier periods, it contracts. This frequent expansion and contraction cycle can lead to soil that doesn't adequately support your foundation, causing it to settle or shift over time.

When the supporting soil moves, it can lead to foundation issues that manifest as those noticeable wall cracks or uneven flooring. Homes in this area are especially susceptible due to the variable moisture content and the potential for high groundwater levels. In some local yards, poor drainage can exacerbate these issues further. Catching signs early, such as pooling water in your basement or sticking doors, allows homeowners to address these concerns before they lead to more significant structural damage. This proactive approach can prevent more costly repairs down the line, ensuring the integrity of your foundation remains strong.

FAQs

Yes, many concrete lifting companies in Bremerton offer payment plans or financing options to help manage the cost of repairs. It is best to inquire directly with the service provider about the specific financing options they offer.

Foam lifting is often ideal for situations where the sunken concrete is stable but needs elevation to restore its original level, especially in areas that are difficult to access or require minimal disruption. A professional assessment can help determine if foam lifting is suitable for your particular situation.

Signs of sinking or settling concrete include uneven surfaces, visible cracks, pooling water, or gaps between concrete sections and adjacent structures. If you observe these signs, it may be time to consult a professional for an evaluation.

During a concrete lifting estimate, you can expect a professional to assess the condition of the concrete, identify areas of concern, and provide recommendations for solutions. They will also offer a price estimate and discuss the process and materials used for lifting the concrete.

Poor drainage can cause water to accumulate under or around concrete walkways or driveways, leading to erosion of the base material, soil shifting, and eventual sinking or cracking of the concrete. Regular maintenance and proper drainage solutions are essential to prevent these issues.
