Concrete Patio Repair

Concrete patios are a place for relaxation and fun. But their constant use and outdoor location can lead to damage such as cracks and uneven surfaces.

A well-maintained concrete patio is a value-add to your property and a hub for outdoor relaxation and entertainment.

Over time, though, patios are subject to wear and tear, constant exposure to elements, and usage, which may lead to damage or unevenness, like in the image below.

At Groundworks, we provide industry-leading concrete lifting services that address damage at the root. With an experienced, nationwide team and cutting-edge concrete lifting solutions, we strive to make your patio safe and functional again.

What is Concrete Patio Repair?

Concrete patio repair is a specialized service from Groundworks aimed at rectifying damage to concrete patios. This damage can manifest in various ways, such as visible cracks, uneven surfaces, or sinking slabs, all of which compromise the aesthetics and functionality of your outdoor space.

These issues stem from factors including:

Without any preventative measures, all of these have the potential to cause cracks or shifts on your patio, leading to uneven surfaces and tripping hazards.

At Groundworks, we employ a modern concrete lifting technique called polyurethane injection to address these issues. You can see an example of the process in the image.

This method not only repairs visible damage but also tackles the underlying causes — all with minimal disruption to your property.

How Does Concrete Patio Repair Benefit My Home?

Concrete patio repair is more than just a cosmetic fix; it offers a range of benefits that enhance the value and safety of your home.

Firstly, a well-maintained and repaired patio significantly boosts your property’s market value. Most buyers often look for homes that require minimal repair work, and a well-kept patio is a good sign.

Not to mention, the aesthetic appeal of a smooth, crack-free patio improves your home’s curb appeal, making a strong first impression on visitors or potential buyers.

Secondly, repairing your concrete patio eliminates potential safety risks. Cracked or uneven patios present trip hazards, especially for children or elderly family members. By investing in concrete patio repair, you ensure the safety of your loved ones and guests while enjoying outdoor activities.

Lastly, concrete patio repair helps preserve your property’s structural integrity. Over time, unattended patio damage could lead to soil erosion beneath other concrete structures on your property or even compromise your home’s foundation.

By repairing your damaged patio, you mitigate these risks, preventing more substantial damage and costly repairs in the future. Concrete patio repair is an investment for your entire home, enhancing its value, safety, and longevity.

How Do We Install Polyurethane Injection for Concrete Patio Repair?

The cornerstone of Groundworks’ concrete patio repair process is the use of PolyRenewal™, our polyurethane injection system. This technique is efficient, minimally disruptive, and offers a durable, long-lasting solution for patio repair.

Watch the timelapse to see how PolyRenewal restores concrete. For more reference, here’s a step-by-step overview of how we employ this technique:

  1. Assessment and Preparation: Our first step is to evaluate the extent of the patio damage. We then drill small, strategically located holes into the damaged concrete slab. These holes will serve as entry points for the polyurethane injection.
  2. Injection of Polyurethane Foam:  We inject high-density polyurethane foam into these holes using specialized equipment. This foam is designed to expand once injected rapidly.
  3. Filling of Voids and Lifting of Slab: The expanding foam fills any voids beneath the concrete slab, exerting upward pressure that lifts the slab back to its original, level position.
  4. Finishing Touches: Once the slab is level, we fill the drilled holes and smooth the patio surface, leaving no visible signs of the repair work.

This entire process is quick, generally taking only a few hours. Your repaired patio is ready for use almost immediately after completion of the repair since PolyRenewal™ cures in just 15 minutes!
