After the evaluation, he showed me pictures and explained what needed to be done in a way that was easy for me to understand and was completely non-judgmental (my crawl space is…bad). He then explained my options and the pricing and payment options and was incredibly kind and understanding when I said I needed time to figure out the financing of the projects. This will be a follow-up 5 star review. FSS, now Groundworks, installed a seal system and a sump pump in our crawlspace in 2023. The back-up battery recently began to malfunction. The company sent Isaac to investigate. He was timely and spent a a couple of hours trouble shooting to make sure there were no other issues. Sure enough, he found an issue with the sump pump that was actually the underlying problem. He made the effort to return to his office, quite a distance from our house, to get the necessary parts to fix the problem and then returned to fix it. He also swapped out the battery which had become defective due to the underlying issue. It would have been easy for him to simply do the latter, and our problem would have persisted without us knowing it. This extra trouble-shooting effort made a difference, in other words. What also particularly pleased me was that Isaac was also the tech who had come to our house last spring – continuity matters, especially for a company like Groundworks-FSS. The facts speak for themselves as to the quality of the service. We are very pleased.

Josh came to my home & did a very thorough inspection all while explaining everything he was doing & what he was seeing so I understood. As a first time homeowner, understanding was very important to me. When the Team came to do the work, they were AMAZING. Ler Htoo, the foreman, and his Team: Bleh Bleh, Devon, & Eh Wah were wonderful at communicating with me & letting me know timeline & plan. They showed me the work they were doing & explained the what & the why. Also, they cleaned up so well after they were done that my basement looked 10 times better than before they started and you can't even tell they had to dig a hole in my yard for an anchor! I will absolutely recommend Groundworks to anyone & everyone who needs foundation support – they made what I thought would be a stressful process incredibly easy & totally stress free. The guys who worked on our driveway and steps were Andre’s Martinez and CJ Cleveland. Both worked well together finishing the project quickly. Immediate results were noticed with driveway slabs and steps being lifted back to their original position. The finished project looks good and with the 5 year warranty will see if it remains in place. Clean up was great and overall a really good job. My only comment would be to obtain gray sand for the caulk instead of tan. I think it would be a more normal and pleasing look.

I recently worked with Erich Moore on installing a sump pump and aqua stop wall liner. The process of inspection and the way he went over everything was very smooth and helpful. He showed videos to explain the entire process and answered all of my questions. The team that came out to install got the job done within a day. My washer and dryer sit on an elevated cement platform and I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to fix it after they dug around the perimeter, but they did! Overall I am very pleased with the results and the promptness of completion. I 100% recommend Ohio Basement Authority to anyone that needs waterproofing done.

What can I say about my experience with the team. Chris Boyd did a comprehensive inspection, including crawling around in my crawlspace (and even brought me up the hammer I had left down there a couple months earlier). Daniel Mages and Scott Worthington were the technicians who did the concrete lift to my driveway and sidewalk sections. They showed up on time as scheduled (even provided me a courtesy call first to let me know when they would be arriving). The concrete lift and stabilization work was professional, and the sealing of the joints they did look amazing. I only wish I had taken the initiative to have the work done sooner. Thank you.

I first contacted Groundworks because I had a smell in my basement that I was pretty sure was wet/dampness related. It was the first smell to hit my nose when I opened the door. It was embarassing. I called Groundworks to see if they might have a solution. Warren came to do the initial inspection. He discovered that a pipe was broken in my crawlspace & recommended that I have a plumber come to fix it. The smell noticeably subsided after it was fixed. I had already decided that I would proceed with Warren's recommendations (waterproofing, installation of a sump pump & adding a dehumidifier) because I wanted the 'old basement' smell gone. The team (Ler, Htoo, EhTee & TaMla) that came to do the work were exceptional, imo. Ler let me know that the job might run over the original planned 2 days as there was some additional work because of the concrete was poured. He said they would try to get it in two, but he wanted to make me aware. He was very informative, asking me to take a look before their meal break & prior to leaving before the day so I could ask any questions. Very good communication skills. I would highly recommend Groundworks & this team that worked with me. Thank you!

However, Stan made suggestions and offered alternative solutions for the project. I was pleased with this gesture. I will recommend Underpinnings to anyone who has need of their services. I serve on the HOA board for a 36-unit condo building in Los Angeles, and we had a major accessibility issue. Our driveway entrance was sinking while the adjacent sidewalk slab was rising. Over the years, this created a 4-inch lip that caused residents' cars to scrape every time they entered. Since most of our residents live here year-round, we needed a solution that wouldn't block access for days. After researching, I found Groundworks. Mike met with us and explained the concrete lifting process clearly. His estimate was very reasonable, especially compared to the alternative: tearing out and repouring the entire drive, which would have taken days and caused a logistical nightmare. Groundworks had all their insurance and licenses in order, making the onboarding process seamless for our Property Management. Unlike many contractors I’ve dealt with, Mike provided consistent updates and kept the project moving. On installation day, the foremen, Jacob and Ricardo, arrived exactly at 9:00 AM. Jacob was great at communicating what was realistic for our 'driveway dilemma.' In just a few hours, they were finished. They raised the slab several inches, caulked the cracks, and even ground down the sidewalk edges for a smooth finish. By the next day, residents were driving in without any issues. I was the 'HOA hero' for finding such an efficient, cost-effective fix. Homeowners rejoiced! A few weeks later, everything is holding up perfectly. I recommend Groundworks wholeheartedly for anyone dealing with foundation or concrete issues. It was a better and quicker solution than we ever imagined.

Ronald and Remi were both very professional, and courteous when they came to quote the job. And Lucio and the crew were also very professional and courteous.
