We hired Groundworks to install a steel beam after discovering that a previous owner had removed a load-bearing wall in our basement without proper structural support. The initial process was smooth and gave us confidence moving forward. However, the engineer was never scheduled for an onsite visit and completed the documentation without seeing the project in person. I would strongly recommend requesting an onsite engineering review—it would have given us much more confidence, especially with work involving braking a stem wall. That said, the experience wasn’t perfect. We had to reschedule due to a funeral, and it took quite a while to get back into their workflow. Scheduling flexibility is definitely an area that could be improved. The biggest issue came with the first installation attempt. The initial crew missed the mark—the support posts were not placed aligned, and there was unnecessary damage, including cutting through wood framing that was supporting lights. We were also asked to sign off on the work in that condition, which was concerning. To their credit, Groundworks did step up and make it right. The second crew did an excellent job and delivered a much better result. Steve A. coordinated a strong team—Osyrus P., Aaron K., and Holden—who clearly knew what they were doing and took care to correct the issues. Overall, while there were some frustrating moments, I’m giving a high rating because of their willingness to acknowledge the problems and fix the work properly. If you get the right crew and don’t run into scheduling issues, I would recommend Groundworks.

Not only did he evaluate the concrete and bricks on my front steps and driveway, he inspected the entire perimeter of my home for cracks, drainage issues and wood rot. i've had Groundworks out to my home because my main support beam separated from the ceiling. They came and lifted my house up 2 inches. Another appointment was made for all the cement work that needed. To be done around the foundation. I was having a problem with Water. Puddlonh on the bottom of my step. Ivan and Julio were just here and I was told that my railing would have to be removed. Which was upsetting because I need the railing to help me get up the stairs, but Julio and Ivan were able to just saw through the metal at the base raise up that square of concrete and cemented where the difference was from them lifting that particular area. They were very courteous, very professional and explained to me in detail what they were doing. Best of all they were able to salvage my handrail so that saves me money on having someone install a new one and purchase a New one!! They arrived at the time they stated they would be here and finish the job with in 45 minutes. I would recommend Groundwork to anyone needing foundation problems resolved. Best of all from the salesman to the receptionist who answers the phone and the actual workers doing the job have been awesome. every interaction I've had has been with kindness and resolving any issues. Professional, Honest, and Hardworking Crew! Our floors were sagging dramatically, so we called Groundworks. They sent Michael out to inspect the issues, and after he took the elevations, we initially decided on four IntelliJacks and signed the same day. Roughly two weeks later, the crew arrived ready to work. The foreman, Roger, and crew members Juan and Santos did a thorough walkthrough and realized the home actually needed more than the original plan to be truly stable. We agreed on installing 24 feet of beam and six total jacks to support the entire house. They gave us a great price for the additional work, so we went for it. The crew even stayed late to ensure there wouldn't be any further delays with the project. These guys are amazing! I highly recommend Roger’s crew and Groundworks for any home foundation repair. Lenny took time to explain things when I popped down and was very patient with questions while working incredibly hard. We have friends who literally live in a swamp who had Busy Dog a couple years ago and their system has worked perfectly. They were getting water in their basement several times a year– now NOTHING. And I love the technology innovations by this company, the quality of the materials is top notch. Salesman Mike worked with us to set up the construction, he and their engineer came out several times to make sure they understood our tricky set up and worked to get the timing right for timing that worked for us

I’ve been a realtor for 18 years but this was for our personal property in Walnut Creek and I was extremely worried we were going to hear from Jeff that we need to do six figures worth of work. We have experienced some shifting in our floors, walls, thresholds and I was CONVINCED we needed major repairs. However, Jeff brought us a huge sense of relief by not only telling us we didn’t need any major repairs and what we were experiencing was normal for our age home. From my extensive experience working with vendors, they almost always push some sort of work, unnecessary or necessary. I can’t thank Jeff enough for his honest evaluation and helping me sleep at night again after 2 years of what felt like constant worry. Groundworks was great to work with. I had a leak in my basement and Jeremy from Groundworks came to my home and clearly explained what they would do. The cost was less than their competitors. Emanuel and Luis installed everything and they were very professional, communicated well, and did an excellent job. Emanuel asked me often if I had any questions and he kept me informed as to all the steps in the process. He and Luis worked diligently all day and were able to complete the project in one day. They tested the sump pump to make sure it worked and a few days after they left, we got rain and I had NO water in my basement. I was very impressed and would highly recommend Groundworks.

Wow! This company is wonderful, and worth every dollar. The crew who came to our home to stabilize our previously-sinking house were better than we could have imagined. Here's what we loved about our Groundworks experience (in no particular order): 1. Blake, Warren, and Bobby were professional, kind, skilled, and they kept us updated on each step of the project. 2. They were on time, and they worked efficiently so we were not in a repair zone too long. 3. They are skilled beyond belief. They acted like "surgeons" when installing the supporting materials in our foundation. 4. They were a team! Blake, Warren, and Bobby knew what they needed to do, and they were a well-oiled machine. They were a highly professional crew and my family appreciated their willingness to explain the project as it unfolded. We have already seen a massive improvement in the house since the work was completed. The team did an epic job of turning my crawlspace from a dank, muddy home for critters and mold into a clean, dry, and encapsulated space.
