I contacted Groundworks because I know foundation issues are not something to sleep on. I wasn't sure if my home had any serious issue or just normal settling. Jim came out to my home, explained everything to me, showed me data, measurements and was patient, respectful and kind. Jim explained everything in a way that didn't make the process feel overwhelming. At the end of the meeting Jim told me there was nothing of concern and I from the beginning he felt like someone that was direct and won't sell me something I didn't need. The leveling of our driveway was our second project with Leveled Concrete (aka Groundworks) this year. With over 2200 sq ft of concrete slabs originally poured in 1994, the nearby tree roots had caused some lifting of the driveway. The crew, led by Corey Scott, did a great job getting the slabs level. Now we can pump up the basketball and shoot hoops without fear of tripping! The project wasn’t inexpensive, but the 5yr guarantee gave us confidence in the process. A special shout-out to Corey Scott for being super communicative throughout the project. His knowledge, professionalism and patience with all of our questions along the way was much appreciated!

His name is Archie B. and he was on time, he took his time to diagnose the problem that I was having, he showed me a few things I wasn't aware of with my basement drainage system. He was very knowledgeable and I really appreciated that he wanted me to know what was going on. Thank you Archie. When we discovered water in our basement, I made many calls to have someone inspect our situation and come up with a solution. Local companies are small and presumably swamped with work because of the high water table this year–no one got back to me. Groundworks was the only company that answered my call and I was surprised that someone could come to our house that very day. That was impressive in my opinion. Adebayo Ogunleke and Atila Simon were fantastic. They worked non-stop and I mean that literally. Beyond their hard work, both young men were extremely polite and respectful. Ade answered all of my questions and explained what he was doing to deal with obstacles or unusual situations such as why he had to dig the trench further out from the wall. Atila's clean-up was excellent. I would rate Groundworks' workers 10/10. With a sump pump and the trenching system, my wife and I feel our basement is now much better equipped to deal with future water issues.

We really appreciated our experience with Groundworks. Deciding to have foundation work done is never easy, but the team helped us with a solution that we were comfortable with both in price and in meeting our needs. Aaron the field inspector was very personable and approachable with questions and concerns. Len, the foreman on the installation, Mark the co-foreman, and Wesley, an installer (now foreman), did a good job to make sure our foundation was stable and that the project was completed correctly. A year later, Brent, a field inspector who was helping with service calls, came to adjust all of the jacks and make sure everything was solid as part of our maintenance agreement. We are very thankful for Groundworks and for all of the work done to make our home stable for the future.

I’ll start with Michael Luera calling me back at 715 in the morning after I left a message at 1230 the previous night. My newly installed system included under floor drainage, a sump pump, and a battery back up sump pump, with battery. I had been hearing a beep for a couple of days while it was raining but hadn’t realized that meant the battery backup was activated. I didn’t realize it was just the sensor the the backup being a little too low- the main pump never activated. Once I realized that, I was somewhat relieved; but now my battery had been used for two days as the primary. I was worried that if I had an outage, I would no longer have backup, and we had already received o we 6 inches of rain the previous two days. He came out that very day and checked the system, and replaced the battery. Michael was professional, and reassured me that everything was working as expected. The sensor was moved higher, and my in floor system kept water from pooling in my floor like it had before. So, the system worked, and they were responsive to an urgent call, returning my call before official business hours. Thank you, Michael Luera!

I contracted with Groundworks to demo and replace the entire foundation for my home (built in the 1930s) in Petaluma, CA. The foundation was original to the home and falling apart. This job was competitively and transparently priced by the inspector/Estimator Adam Mier, who was referred to me by a professional colleague. I did obtain other bids, but Adam was the only estimator that addressed all of my concerns and factored permitting and engineering fees into the bid upfront. Once work began, the foremen on the jobs (Tyler, Nestor) were professional and excellent communicators, and kept the job site clean and organized. With the help of Jose and Erick, they finished ahead of schedule and were able to save me costs. They worked around a number of issues on the jobsite, including access challenges and bad winter weather. I would trust this company with your foundation and concrete projects over the competition, especially projects like mine (that are extensive and potentially expensive) because they have a competent team of professionals working for them.

He conveyed verbally and visually what he found in his inspection. He followed that with explaining how things he found were affecting our home and offered options on how to address the issues. When we left we felt confident we understood what was happening, why it is happening and how to address our concerns. We felt he was honest and sincere. We had a portion of the driveway that had cracked and caved in a bit. They were able to raise the cracked portion and will fill the cracks. It looks new, with only the seal showing where the cracks were. They also raised part of the walkway to the house, which was uneven and posed a hazard to people walking up to the house. Overall, they did a very good job and finished in a reasonable time.

Groundworks provided an encapsulation of the crawl space beneath our townhouse. It involved water seal and foam board for the walls and floor. We'd had similar work done a couple years ago and we were very unhappy with the results. Though Groundworks had a higher quote, some of which was the removal of materials from the previous company's efforts, the end result is great and so far we feel it's been worth every penny. Following the initial work, we've had a couple minor issues, and we're pleased to say the company addressed them effectively and efficiently, responding with a crew within 48 hours of our telling them about the problem. Their office person (Michele) did a great job of coordinating their field people and made doing business with the company a pleasant experience. We're in our late 70's so touring crawlspaces is not on our bucket list – the Groundworks people were happy to provide pictures of what they were doing or had done throughout the job. We're very pleased with the service and the courtesy of their people. Special thanks to Antonio. A cautionary note about highly negative reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. Before you take those reviews seriously, check the reviewer's profile and see if during their entire lifespan on Yelp they have ever, ever, ever written a positive review about anything. If all they write are negative reviews, they're actually telling you more about themselves than they are telling you about the company they're reviewing. Just sayin'.
