I requested a free estimate of how much it would cost to re-level our brick patio that had began settling years ago due to a failed retaining wall. This wall was replaced last year, hence the desire to do the brick/concrete slab leveling using Bay Area Underpinning's Polyrenewal process that can literally raise a slab. The certified field inspector, Chance Danner, was very thorough in his evaluation of what was needed, and the entire presentation was well organized, clearly laid out, professional and the pricing was reasonable. Chance explained how they would do the job in our patio, and backed it up with visuals on their Polyrenewal system. Although we decided to wait to do the job until after we took care of several other major projects, we would definitely recommend Bay Area Underpinning to anyone.

We had Daniel come out to take a look at our foundation to see if there were any issues that needed to be fixed under our home (a second opinion). After our first inspection we were told there were numerous issues that needed to be fixed that surely would have cost us thousands. We were considering the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program so the first inspection was a recommended foundation company through the EBB program. Daniel came out and took his time measuring the house on the exterior and interior. He was super meticulous and took settling measurements and also went under our home and took photos of the foundation. He sat with us after and explained everything to us. Turns out our foundation is stable and not needing any work. Daniel was super professional and knows his trade very very well. He was very honest. I now have a company I would call back in a heart beat if I needed to have any foundational work done. I will also recommend them to any neighbors that need this kind of company. The estimate was free as well and Daniel also had no hesitation crawling under the house on a 101 degree day to check things out. 5 star company here. Do not hesitate and call them! -Nicole San Ramon

The team I worked with at BAU was great. I hired them to repair some minor vertical and horizontal foundation cracks that were found in a recent general home inspection. Everyone who came out was upbeat, professional, punctual, thorough, and highly detailed. Hunter came out first to check the entire foundation and give a free estimate. They then split the work up into two dates, and each crew was great. Michael and James came out first for the initial round, and then Alexander and Gabe came out to wrap up the last few areas. The guys were always on time, which is greatly appreciated. Both repair teams also did their own additional checks of the surrounding areas, also greatly appreciated. They were also able to provide before and after pictures, and were respectful of the property.

We just bought a house, and literally every single metal pier in the crawlspace was rusted out. Bay Are Underpinning came in and did an awesome job. Their inspector Aaron was super thorough in assessing the damage and explained everything in detail. Then, the repair crew of Eric, Jesus, and Andrew came in and knocked out the entire job in a day — a huge relief considering we had a ton of other work we need to get done before moving in. The work is not cheap, but they offer financing options and stand by their work, so I feel very good about the entire job.

We were told about moisture under our home so we decided to schedule a foundation inspection and our inspector was Chris Murray was incredible! Called to confirm the day before, and the morning of communicated his ETA. He came in and was extremely nice and professional. He explained everything he found afterwards and was honest about our solutions and cost. We have an extremely small crawl space so he was unable to book us for something within his company but he continued to look into other options for us. It is refreshing to have someone come out and be very truthful about our options!

Several months ago, I noticed that doors in my house were no longer closing and latching. Specifically, my front door no longer locked completely. Once I got it fully locked I could no longer open my front door anymore, so I knew I had foundation issues. I called Bay Area Underpinning to come look at my foundation and do some measurements. We discovered that my front living room was sinking approximately one and a half to 2 inches. The crew, Lance Sladek, Jake Hall, and Eddie Shaw, crawled under my house and dug 30 to 40 foot holes in the ground to install piers that would lift my foundation. These gentlemen worked in very cramped dirty conditions in 90-100° weather. I was extremely happy with their work and their dedication to doing the job correctly. My after the foundation lift, my front door as well as several other doors in my home were able to close and latch again.

Within a few months of buying our first home, we noticed some troubling signs: bedroom doors swinging open or closed on their own, “bubbles” and creaks in sections of the newly renovated floors, and significant cracks splitting the concrete in our garage. Although two general inspectors assured us that our house was level, we reached out to Bay Area Underpinning (BAU) for a more detailed assessment—and we're so glad we did! Inspector Christopher Murray conducted a meticulous inspection with radar equipment. While technically our house was level, Christopher uncovered that our foundation was sinking by inches in multiple areas, explaining the issues we were experiencing. Though the news and associated repair cost were a bit daunting as new homeowners, Christopher’s knowledge, professionalism, and clear answers to all our questions reassured us that we were in good hands. With confidence, we decided to proceed with BAU for the repair. Fredy Mora and his crew did exceptional work with the demo of the old concrete slabs and the prep for lifting, working quickly and efficiently. Fredy’s positive attitude made the process smooth, and his team was thorough and dedicated from start to finish. A special thank you to our lift project manager, Kevin Gaeden. Kevin was an outstanding communicator, keeping us fully informed and addressing every question promptly. His attentiveness made a huge difference throughout the project, and we felt reassured every step of the way. Esteban Ibarra, a crewmember on the lift team, also did superb work, handling the hands-on details with skill and care. Both Kevin and Esteban even went above and beyond, taking time to fix a jammed bedroom door that had shifted with the house lift. While foundation issues are never easy, we couldn’t have asked for a better team. We’re incredibly grateful to Bay Area Underpinning for their expertise, professionalism, and exceptional service. I will sleep much better tonight. I noticed a crack in my foundation and called Bay Area Underpinning. Hunter came out and walked the entire property and went underneath my house. He identified one other issue that I knew about besides the crack and told me they could fix that too. I had no idea you can call structural engineers for chimneys. His quote was fair to me and you can't beat the warranty and financing. Today Jesus Villagomes and Erick Baez came out and fixed the crack, they also looked around underneath and reassured me AGAIN that my house was in good shape. Because I caught it early they were able to fill the crack and then add a carbon fiber exposy seal. They also sealed the crack from the outside, even though they had already filled it in under the house. They were professional, answered all my questions, no matter how many and honestly were just pleasant to work with. They also explained my maintenance plan so I knew what to expect. I would absolutely recommend this entire team, to stay professionally kind in high heat is amazing. The Chimney job is pending and again, I'm ahead of the curve and not waiting for it to get worse.
