It all started with the Groundworks Crawl Space commercial and Mr. Mike Rowe doing the "Dirty Job". thats when my wife and i decided to call Groundworks. We made an appointment and as promised the Inspector arrived right on time, maybe a little early, but he called first. The Groundworks Inspector Mr. Corey Meyers was the best and most prepared inspector that i have ever met. Corey took time to first ask a series of questions and then got dressed up in his protective gear and adorned his assortment of tools and inspected our 100 yr. old crawl space. The inspection was a success. My wife and I are extremely impressed with Corey and the Groundworks company. Thank you so much.

I have used Select Basement which is now Groundworks for years and across several properties. In NJ there are only two outfits that deal with basements. The other one are incredibly overpriced and do not give any confidence that they are honest. Groundworks dealt with pump installs, maintenance, crack sealing with epoxy and redoing basement wells. Overall they are a consistent and quality service provider and part of my go to team for my various basements.

We are doing some renovations to our house and decided that in order to do them, we finally needed to address the obvious foundation repairs necessary to do them correctly. I performed a Google search for foundation repair companies in the Houston area. Foundation Support Specialist was able to schedule me for that very same day. Brian Erb was the field inspector assigned to give our house an inspection and estimate for foundation repair. We received notification about 20 minutes prior to his scheduled time by text messages and a phone call, stating that he was on his way. Brian arrived precisely at his scheduled time and was courteous and friendly. After he introduced himself and told us about his company Groundworks (formerly Foundation Support Specialist), he went over a checklist with us to get some history of our home. Afterwards he explained how he would be inspecting our house and what exactly he was looking for. He got to work and was very thorough and professional during his inspection. He measured and drew up a scale diagram of our house, then proceeded to use his Ziplevel to take altitude measurements of the floor throughout our house. His measurements showed that our foundation had sunk almost 2" on the NW corner of our house. He showed us a slideshow on why foundations settle, common practices to repair, and how Groundworks repairs foundations. When he was done, he gave us 3 levels of estimates. A minimal necessary repair, A mid range estimate, and a high end estimate that included extra piers on the SE corner to help support the opposite side of the slab from the repairs. He explained what each level included and answered any questions we had. Brian spent about 2 hours with us and all in all it was a pleasant experience. We have 2 more companies coming out in the next week to give us estimates, and unless they use a similar pier into bedrock system and drastically lower price, we will most likely choose Groundworks for our repairs.

Foundation Repair – REVIEW To: Groundworks Foundation Company I just wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation to the two crews your company sent to my house this week, to do some major foundation repair work. The first crew consisted of Foreman Brenden, along with his crew of Steven, Justin, and Angel. They were joined by a second crew that consisted of Adam, Josh, and Wes. Both crews worked together on the first day to get a total of 19 holes started around our house, which would allow Brendon to use the hydraulic press that would push the steel poles into the ground that would eventually support the flange immediately under the edge of the foundation. The soil our house is built on is called blackland and is very thick and heavy when wet, as was the case this week when the work was started. This type of soil is very difficult to work with when wet, as opposed to when it is dry, but both crews went to work immediately to get the pilot holes dug around the house. I was impressed with their ability to dig those holes with the soil being in the worst possible condition at this time, to do so. After both crews completed many of the holes for the steel pipes to go into, the second crew was able to leave to go to another work location, and that left the first crew to begin the installation of the steel pipes that would eventually support the foundation, and also complete a few remaining holes that had not been dug at that time. All of the work was well organized and everyone had a job to do. I never saw anyone taking a break, and at the end of the first day, I would say half of the pipe supports had been installed. I was informed they would be back early on the second day to complete the work. They showed up right around 8am and immediately picked up where they left off the night before. By mid-afternoon, everything was in place and Brenden began taking readings in various rooms of our home to see how much the foundation had raised. Most readings ranged from about a half inch to as much as 1.5 inches, which was a great improvement overall. But the most secure feeling about the work is that our foundation is stabilized and will not continue to cause the cracks in the sheetrock of several rooms, that we have experienced over the past couple of years. We will now be able to make repairs and paint, where necessary, and know that any repair work will remain permanent. Before the crew was going to leave, we were asked if we were pleased with the work and how it was done. I told Brenden that we could not have been happier with the results, and were very impressed with the technology that Groundworks used to secure and stabilize our foundation, so that we should not have any further issues in the future. We got our work schedule and it all went swimmingly. The foreman Emanuel Valdez and his team ( Sa Aung and Luis Vazquez) were very mindful of our pets and property. I spent the time and made calls to have 6 different companies to come out. Some were higher and some were lower. Lots of research on my own to ask the right questions. One was a call with Jacob from FSS. I had the front portion of my house & garage corrected by these folks. The steps from the sales call and education of what was to be done was very friendly and informative. No pressure to close the sale, more focus on what is happening and what the future looks like. I went with the push pier system. I really liked the features this system offered. The Team that came out and did the work was quick and thorough. Wow!!! Our pool is set on a slope which required a lot of concrete. Unfortunately, after several years due to settlement, we had gaps, cracks and uneven joints. Groundworks took over the company that had installed my encapsulation. That company seemed to do a good job but they never followed up to do an inspection like they said they would. Chris at Groundworks recently came out to inspect and service the crawl space dehumidifier. He did a thorough inspection and fixed the dehumidifier. Chris was very nice and professional and communicated prior to the inspection as to timing of when he would arrive. The person I talked to in the office was also very nice and professional. Excellent service from Chris and Groundworks.

I recently had a major job done by Groundworks, / Bay Area Underpinning. The management of the company, was outstanding, (Kevin the supervisor, and Will the service representative) were prompt, quickly returned every call and did everything to make this experience a good one. The workers on the foundation stabilization, Able, and Manuel were polite and extremely hard working. I also had a hillside foamed to stabilize it and both Jeff and Anthony were great and each phase did a great job of cleaning up so as if they had never been there. This stabilization of a pool deck, I am very happy with. This was the 2nd job that was done as they also lifted a tilting Gazebo a few years ago. Work crew was pretty good about trying to put back landscaping even though it's not really their job, so I appreciated that part. I also appreciated how they tried to minimize damage to my yard. They were able to get the settling almost back to where it was before the warranty claim on the piers. (I was having 4 piers handled out of warranty and 1 new pier added at my expense.) My only real issue was the damage to the brick siding that is now still in process of being resolved.

We had a garage floor that had a corner dropping. I also had a toolshed with a similar problem. Finally, we had a poorly laid driveway that had horrible cracks. Groundworks created a plan for the work. The garage floor was fully lifted, the shed is level again and the cracks are sealed in the driveway to give us a little longer before having to have a whole new one poured. The crew were professional. We had to have the job done in parts due to snow on the driveway. They were great about helping us schedule. Very happy to recommend them.
