I believe in doing the right thing, always. It's how I run MY business, and I'm always hopeful others will be as fair and honest with me as I am with them. I reviewed Groundworks a few days ago based on my recent experience with their work on my foundation repair, which was in, all honesty, a total failure. I expressed disappointment in the expectations that were set by the salesman/certified field inspector, but wholeheartedly praised the four-man crew who did the actual work. Their communication was great, they were very professional, tried hard to deliver the results we ALL wanted, but ultimately left my house dejected because of the fail. My repair job was not particularly difficult (my own two-man crew got it done in a few hours), but in hindsight, it was agreed that the proposal didn't make total sense and probably should have had more input to find the best solution — another set of eyes perhaps. After posting my review, which was honest but not flattering, the local manager, Jack, reached out to me to apologize and ask what the company could do to make things right. That has NEVER happened before to me. Once that check is cashed, it's always been "see ya later sucker". He asked if he could drive down to my home 100 miles away in the aftermath of a bitterly cold ice storm and see for himself the project and try to determine why it failed. What ensued was a step-by-step recounting of the initial appointment by the field inspector, the proposed solution, and an inspection of the results. To my utter surprise, Jack and his partner Blake, were in complete agreement with me that the work failed, the solution was not adequate, and that the expectation level was perhaps too high. There was a disconnect between what SHOULD have been done and what was actually done. Both Jack and Blake listened to me, something men rarely do when dealing with a woman. They were genuinely embarrassed by the results and not once became defensive or insulting or in any way condescending. THAT IS WHAT GOOD BUSINESS PEOPLE DO. It's what businesses do when they care about their clients and want to grow their business the right way. It's doing the right thing, and it pays off. To my surprise, they offered a full refund and even left in place their expensive piers and jacks. It was the right thing to do, but the unheard-of thing. There was no negotiating, no haggling — just a sincere apology, an acknowledgment that I was right, and a friendly handshake to seal the deal. In the end, the job on this house was a failure, but Groundworks earned future business from me because I believe they are truly interested in the client and the results and not just chasing dollars. Integrity is a scarce commodity in this world, but today, Jack and Blake demonstrated it in spades, and for that I say thank you. Although I was disappointed in my personal results, I think we all learned a lesson. We both will use this as a coaching/learning lesson. I will still be wary of salesmen and quick resolution proposals, but I believe this company is sincere in its motivation to do the right thing. When my neighbors come calling to ask for a referral (and they will), I will be honest, and tell them, yes, I recommend Groundworks. Honesty trumps everything. Thank you, Jack and Blake, for doing the right thing.

Braden Simpson of Groundworks came out to look at our concerns with home foundation. A little nerve racking since we don't understand how this works. Braden represented his company very well. He conveyed verbally and visually what he found in his inspection. He followed that with explaining how things he found were affecting our home and offered options on how to address the issues. When we left we felt confident we understood what was happening, why it is happening and how to address our concerns. We felt he was honest and sincere. There was no pressure and he has a great personality to work with. He also spent every moment it took to inform us and make us comfortable with a lot of information. He was calm and patient.

I used Groundworks based on an ad on FB. I called them for an estimate and the representative Mike Olney inspected the area I needed lifting around my pool. He inspected all of my house in case there were other areas that needed taken care of. I find him honest in his estmate and didn't try to convince me other areas needing work. He said my foundation was in good shape. I have a concrete slab that holds my pool equipment that I asked him about. He told me his company couldn't do any this because of the possibilty of damaging the equipment. He said the slab looked stable and it had sunk as much as it would. I appreciated his honesty in his reviews. He recommended GreenSky for the financing. He walked me through the financing. I told him I wanted to show his workup to my son who lives out of the country. He was understanding. I got the financing quickly and a date for doing the work was communicated to me. The work was done today March 18 by Poly foreman Joe and his co lead Kaly. I couldn't have asked for better employees. They called me before they came and gave me estimated time of arrival. They were on time and Joe walked me through all the work they would be doing. He told me I should feel free to come out to see what they were doing. I had not realized my pool cover should have been removed. Joe happened to have the tool needed to remove the necessary tie downs. He took care of it for me. He asked for my advice on a specific area around the pool. I based my decision on his expertise. They did a great job efficiently. When they completed the work, Joe walked me through what they had done. He helped me with understanding the payment from Green Sky and the five year warranty and the three-year yearly inspection. The employee's were exceptional and kind in the work they did. I would highly recommend this company.
